There is also a Jokichi Takamine (I think this guy's son), who was an Anthropologist...

Marriage and citizenship edit

At present, the article says: "While in the US, Takamine was married to Caroline Field Hitch." Does this mean that he was not married later in life or elsewhere, or does it just mean that the marriage took place in the US? Takamine's wife gets no other mention, but she may have been of interest or a significant influence on Jokichi Takamine. Also, I heard on an Australian podcast that he was refused US citizenship because of an anti-Japanese law on the books at the time. Does anybody have info from WP:RS regarding either of these questions? Reify-tech (talk) 04:08, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Takamine seems to have spent the largest portion of his life in the US, and died in New York City of liver cancer, I've heard. Can anybody fill in more details about his life and activities in the US? Did he win any awards or honors? The article is pretty sketchy, and may not yet deserve a "Class B" rating. Reify-tech, agree w the above. Alas, as of 2023, the article is still undernourished - just look at the ludicrous lede: "T. was a Japanese chemist. He is known for being the first to isolate epinephrine in 1901." How about vamping it up for DYK ?--Wuerzele (talk) 09:25, 6 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
