Chiefs --> Mets content merge?

Would it not be proper to leave the Syracuse Chiefs page here and merge the proper content (last season's affiliation with the New York Mets and a brief history of the franchise) into a new Syracuse Mets article? Strikerforce^Talk 20:01, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

Syracuse Chiefs → Syracuse Mets – Constructively continuing the same franchise, so no need to split the article. Note that there was no split of the article when the club played in the Eastern League, nor is there a separate article for the SkyChiefs. Accordingly, the most appropriate name for the article is the current club name. —C.Fred (talk) 20:02, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

• I'm not 100% sure that I agree, without diving deeper into precedent and policy. One exception of which I'm aware off the top of my head is the Peoria Rivermen. In their case, one continuous franchise - which is what we have here, in my interpretation - from 1996 to the current season - played in three different leagues. Each version (each league, in other words) currently has its own article. Having some experience around that article and franchise is what led me to raise the question here. Happy to discuss. • Support per nominator. This is what we do when teams change names. Recent examples include: New Orleans Zephyrs -> New Orleans Baby Cakes; Gwinnett Braves -> Gwinnett Stripers; Binghamton Mets -> Binghamton Rumble Ponies. • Comment As an aside, the Peoria teams linked above are hockey teams, and falls under the purview of the Hockey Wikiproject, which prefers separate articles for team moves. (not sure which one you meant, since there are 4 articles at that link for 4 unrelated teams, but yes some have moved and each time acquired a new identity and article.) Teams that don't move and just get renamed, however, are usually kept as one article. (such as Hartford Wolf Pack). Just mentioning that since Peoria was invoked as an example, and that it isn't pertinent here since it's not baseball, and this article falls under the Baseball Wikiproject's purview, so do what you like here. • Support per nominator. As mentioned above, we should just keep this page and not split it. When the Mets changed their name from SkyChiefs to Chiefs back in late 2006, this page was renamed with no problems. So why should we change it? Suggestion: Cap Logo Image Change (10.17.2018)

When looking at the rebranding images on the Syracuse Mets website and other credible media sources, you can see that the at-home style caps for the team are blue with an orange S. This S lies within a white outline (metshomecap.jpeg). This is why I would like to change the cap logo image in the wiki to the following image.Syracuse Mets Home Cap 2019--Grayson Woods (talk) 02:19, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
