This page seems pretty dry: If someone could write up the forums thread herehere, I would love it. I would, but I dont have the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.240.249.104 (talk) 06:50, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Question: where's the info? IIRC last I saw there was a lot of information on this article a couple months ago but now there's nothing; I think we could at least add a plot synopsis or something? Maybe something about units? Yes I know there's not much info yet, but the SupCom Wikia has plenty of information and I just want to know why this article doesn't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.208.233.64 (talk) 17:24, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is a wealth of information at http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=37297 about units, experimentals and game play mechanics, for anyone interested in getting this article going. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.66.75.240 (talk) 18:52, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

There's a ton of information at the SupCom 2 Wikia that's going up, and i'd be happy to put more info into the page. What exactly is needed? I'm one of the major contributors over there (under the same name) Also, i must disagree with the section concerning reception: i consider my self a pretty big fan (if not hardcore) and i think it's simply awesome. --RCIX (talk) 10:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Add a redirect edit

Seeing how the term "SupCom" redirects to the original game, can we perhaps install a redirect to this page? I.e. "SupCom_2" or "SupCom2" (both or one) would redirect to the Supreme Commander 2 page. I would do it myself but I know nothing of Wikipedia's code (or, for that matter, who even has the power to make that happen). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.69.197.87 (talk) 04:17, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey if anyone wants more info to add to the article, there's a lot on the SupCom wiki page, http://supcom.wikia.com/wiki/Supreme_Commander_2

It's pretty well referenced so you should be able to do some copy/pasting. 143.53.155.115 (talk) 08:43, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Criticism edit

I made a reply to a post on the SQUARE ENIX forum regarding the awful changes they made to the game play, see the reception part of the game in the wiki. The entire thread was deleted, presumably by a moderator. Here is my post in full, "Stupidity aside, I wish I had downloaded the demo. All the reviews I read said it was great and I bought it on a whim because Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation were some of my favourite games. Upon installing the game it appears it sleeps with Steam all the time. I can occasionally arouse it from its encrypted state as long as it's not installing some heinously large update and I am connected to the internet 100% of the time. When it does run I don't understand how it can even be considered a Supreme Commander game. It's like some one defecated in C# while some evil puppeteer is toying with my childhood like an awful Transformer movie directed by Michael Bay. I personally feel this game isn't worth money. If I could go back in time I'd assassinate myself before buying this. I will refrain from invoking Godwin's law at this time." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.154.64.188 (talk) 02:16, 20 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Let's just leave it at "highly controversial". It's clear that a high percentage of SC1/FA veterans (but not all of them) simply hate the game, and a lot of newcomers (but not all of them) love it. I was a veteran and i liked it. In fact, as i recall a couple of weeks back GPG had to (threaten to) ban longtime members from their forums because they were scaring away all the newer people that liked it with high degrees of rudeness and you're not wanted here attitudes. --RCIX (talk) 10:36, 21 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reference #12 (http://www.amazon.com/Supreme-Commander-2-Pc/product-reviews/B002BXN6GY/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1) should be removed. A customer review from a retail website is hardly a real reference, I'm sure there are plenty of negative reviews from accredited game review websites that can fill the need of wiki editors who do not like this game.Chrischameleon (talk) 14:37, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

How about 160 customer reviews at once? Of course these can be tempered with, but imho it's more reliable than commercial 'video games sites or magazines' that are commonly bribed and ultimately just reflect ONE players opinion, namely: the reviewers. I would equate Amazon ratings to metacritic ratings - concensus tends to be at least somewhat accurate. 79.223.166.73 (talk) 11:39, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

This is NOT the appropriate forum to voice your opinions on what constitutes a WP:RS. Amazon customer reviews have time and again been rejected as such, if you want to see that changed then take it up in the appropriate wiki policy/project area, it has far wider consequences than this article in which you can huff and puff about it all you like but will get no closer to your goal. -Oosh (talk) 12:09, 7 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

"You." edit

Wikipedia articles should have no usage of the word "you." Wikipedia's not a manual, so this article should be edited as such. Venku Tur'Mukan (talk) 18:38, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Modifications to "Changes" section edit

I've made some changes to the way the original SupCom (and FA) differ from SupCom 2. The main reason was to try and turn at least part of the big list into prose and to include something about the huge change to the way resources are handled (which is a MUCH bigger change, I think, than the introduction of research).

Feel free to edit my changes, but please don't just revert them without saying something. Thanks. 128.187.97.4 (talk) 22:36, 16 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think there ought to be a section added (or an expansion of a section) regarding the (fairly significant) changes made available through patches, addons, and updates. Brauden (talk) 08:08, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Plot edit

I've replayed the campaign and greatly expanded the plot synopsis. Feel free to add any clarifications, edits, or insights of your own though (Finished work Dec. 11, 2020). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.181.23.202 (talk) 17:05, 11 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
