New page edit
I had to disambiguate this article from Stephen Whitney (ship), so I added (1776-1860) to the subject's name. Wildcatman99 (talk) 14:20, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- I am going to make a request at WP:Requested moves that this article be moved to Stephen Whitney, as it makes much more sense for this to be the primary topic. – ukexpat (talk) 01:40, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
Bank of America? edit
I am confused by the assertion that Mr. Whitney was a director of Bank of America. B of A was founded in San Francisco as "Bank of Italy" in 1904, half a century after Whitney's death. Perhaps this is supposed to refer to "Second Bank of the United States" (i.e., one of the forrunners to the Federal Reserve System)? Kelseymh (talk) 06:35, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
