Page naming

Would it be benifical to rename this page Sokuten-class auxiliary minelayer

So as to align with the wording of this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokuten-class_minelayer_(1938) which actually links to this article.

Per WP:NC-SHIPS, do not over specialize the ship type in an article about a ship class. So no. Llammakey (talk) 12:27, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

I concur. Will need to research this class type as there is already a No.1-class submarine chaser article There is also the No.1-class auxiliary patrol boat that needs to be dealt with. Llammakey (talk) 18:27, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

Thank you - that the issue with a lot of Japanese Small Ship "No. classes" They have both Auxiliary and standard types. Would you know if the Sokuten 38 was classified as an Auxiliary? I need this for some other research I am doing.

I note you do a lot of work on ships - I am new here and have been asking around if there is standard ship template available - I am particualry interested in Chinese ships to 1949 and have several reference materials, more on way.

You can make a practice article using draft space. At the top of the webpage there is a link to "sandbox". As for templates, WP:SHIPS - click on that link and it will take you to the project page. On the right hand side there is a box and one of the options says "infoboxes". Click on that and it will take you to the page with different templates for different ships; single civilian ship, single military ship, military ship class or civilian ship class.
