Is place different from Tell al-Ajjul

The place of ancient Sharuhen is not known. The two sites that have the most support for being Sharuhen are Tell al-Ajjul and Tell el-farah south. The Hebrew wiki for Sharuhen is "Tell Sharuhen" which is the Hebrew name of Tell el-farah south (you can find there the location of Tell el-farah south). There are other sites that were suggested by scholars to be the ancient Sharuhen but there is no prove for non of all sites (including the two leading sites) that Sharuhen was there.Tushyk (talk) 09:28, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Aeschylus Prometheus Bound mentions Karnites, ie (Karne/Tartus), in the time of Ahmose.

Diodurus Myrina tale, which describes the Syria campaign of Thutmose 4, mentions Kerne.

Note: Plain of Sharon here is probably an interpretation of Saruna.

The Amarna Letters, EA241, mentions a king Rusmania of Saruna.

Notes: That Khyan/Hyanu might be an Amorite name, and also with the possible the Mitani/Maryanu references to this city, those would point to a location North of Byblos(where those groups lived), which would disqualify Tell al-Ajjul(South of Gaza), and Tell Al-Farrah(South of Ajjul).

Also, if Aeschylus Identification of Karne is correct, then this city might appear in the bible as Calno/Calneh. (Amos 6:2)(Isaiah 10:9)
