Quality Standards edit

I'm still not very happy with this article, in places it reads like one individual's personal essay rather than an encyclopedia article. PatGallacher (talk) 02:20, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This article needs work. I'll try to get it up to standards this week. Dgf32 (talk) 18:09, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also, could someone point at the undeniable fact that the muscles in Jesus' abdomen as depicted in this particular cross look like a gigantic penis?190.87.131.94 (talk)

Penis on Jesus' stomach edit

The outline on Jesus' stomach is clearly of genitalia. Shouldn't it be included in the description?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Liquidpappe (talkcontribs)

It is not the outline of a penis. It is supposed to be empasizing the fact that Jesus' stomach was distended in pain during the crucifiction. The original cross is a 3d cross doesn't represent as well in 2d pictures. If you look at the original San Damiano Cross there are additional lines that seems to be removed from some depections of the San Damiano cross that seem to resemble a penis. This does not change the fact that the original does not in any way appear to be a penis. This seems to fit in the same category as those that claim to see Jesus and/or Mary in water stains and similar objects. In addition to that, the cross in the Oklahoma story that originally started this issue isn't a San Damiano cross, it is similar to one, but it is a modern artists own depiction. San Damiano Church edit

is this church subject to diocis and local bishop? Are the priests ordained in the catholic clergy and subject to rules of Franciscan order? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.51.24.12 (talk) 18:50, 12 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

The missing letter on the cross. edit

If you magnify the image of the cross so that you can read the inscription above Christ's head, you will read "REX IUDEORU". The second word should be "Iudeorum" -- "of the Jews". The "m" at the end of the word is missing. JHobson3 (talk) 16:18, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
