Claims Eto'o has 4 children but he seems to have at least 2 which he doesn't pay child support towards or acknowledge. This has been reported on so at the very least the number of children should be changed as it's factually incorrect. NPOV

I don't think the Racism section is NPOV. It doesn't mention the most common point of view in Spain about the subject. The monkey sounds were made in many stadiums and were only directed towards Eto'o. Some other black players have expressed their disagreement with Eto'o's reaction. It was his overreaction what caused people to do it more and more, not because of racism but as a way of making a rival player nervous.

When exactly did Eto'o say "It is my dream to play for Liverpool"? Can we get a reference on this, please.

False Information

I have re-edit this page for 5th time, after a false quote used linking Samuel Eto'o to Liverpool. I have every quote stated by him in the last 1 year, and there's nothing mentioning about his desire to join Liverpool at all. Could we keep the page as clean as possible without any false information that might mislead the viewer. And i also have re-edit the page when some idiot changes the quote taken from Skysports about him considering an offer from Liverpool which is again completely untrue. Thank you.

Hyperbole

Unfortunately, there is an enormous amount of exaggeration in this article, which rather undermines it (a pity, as it is well written and comprehensive). To say that a strike force of Rooney, Ronaldo and Eto'o would be the greatest ever seen in the game is a rather ill-advised thing to say. It shows a lack of respect to some of the truly great attacks of the bye-gone era. Not one of these three players can yet be classed as truly an 'all-time great'. If you look at the 1960s Real Madrid (and Spain) attack of Puskas and di Stephano; or some of the Brazilian attacks (such as the combinations of Pele, Garrincha, Jairzinho and Tostao (and breifly Zico); or the Dutch combination of Cruyff, Rep and Neeskens; there was also the Argentinian attack which included Marradona and Kempes., It is rather ridiculous to put such an attack above these, almost automatically. Each induvidual would have to be one of the true greats to maker the attack that good. Also, it is rather injudicious of you to say that Eto'o is a 'peerless striker'. I think many would beg to differ, even if some would agree. It most certainly not an objective fact.

Somalian background

Is there any more info or source on his Somalian background? Unfortunately I couldn't find out where that part was added, but it's quite dubious that he lived a lot of his life in Eastern Africa and later moved back to Western Africa(grow up in Somalia and move back to Cameroon to play football). Further, he joined Douala in 1996, which is the age of 11, so I would say the part about Somalia is quite dubious.

International Career section needs expansion

Please expand the international career section. It is pretty weak compared with the other content. I agree and have been thinking about expanding it for a little bit, but thought I would wait until the end of the Cup to do so because, as you suggest, if Eto'o scores again, he'll pass Pokou and the information will change. Italics plus quote marks

Why are the quotations in italics also in this article? It's crazy and unnecessary. Quote marks are for quoting; italics are for stressing, for titles, for vessels' names etc. It's something I often see and it just is not necessary. Quote marks are fine. Long strings of italics are bad enough on the printed page, but even worse for reading on screen. Clean up and re-referencing

I've worked on the article but I couldn't find a reference for this:

On 16 March 2008 Eto'o made his 100th career La Liga appearance for Barcelona and also scored, bringing his goal total to 71. only Mariano Martín (90 goals) and Ladislao Kubala (84) scored more upon reaching the century mark in club appearances.

Nothing on the two best years of his career (so far)!

It must be vandalism - can't imagine why else the biography jumps from his purchase by Barcelona at the beginning of the 2004-5 season to 2007 - leaving out the two golden years of winning the Spanish league twice and the Champions League once with Barça, scoring huge numbers of goals, winning other awards etc etc. Don't have time to fix it up myself right now.

Also, the article is a curious mixture: apart from the strictly footballing exploits (with 2 years missed out, as mentioned) it only talks about his at-times explosive temperament, and his protests against racist chanting.

 Not done - reports differ on the height of Samuel Eto'o, alternating between 180 cm (5ft 11) and 179 cm (5 ft 10.5). UEFA says 180cm ([8]), ESPN says 179cm ([9]), FC Barcelona says 180cm ([10]), Chelsea says 179cm ([11]), so who knows. I'd be inclined to stick with UEFA's 180cm / 5' 11". Please change his honours section to include the Champions League win in 1999/2000 with Real Mardrid. He was in Real Madrid’s winning squad in 2000 and made 3 appearances before going on loan to Mallorca, thus received one of the forty medals UEFA awards to winners (per UEFA's rule book, a single appearance is required for eligibility).
