ummm, no, Iran is NOT an Arab country, it has an Arab minority (about 2% I think) and a Kurdish minority. But actually Persians are Aryan, that's where the name Iran (Aryan in the plural in Persian) came from.

Why does this page use the White pride symbol? It does not correspond with fascism or iranian nationalism. It is incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MichiganLake (talkcontribs) 22:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

It is part of the template rather than the article itself. If your concern is with the use of the symbol in the template Template talk:Neo-fascism is the place you need to go. Keresaspa (talk) 15:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I deleted the follwing section:

Its rumored, with a significant amount of evidence to show, that one of the founding fathers, Vooj Ahjins was said to have love affair with Hitler. This to date, has not been proven, but allegations of Mr. Vooj Ahjins is said to have been gay, although never publicly announced for obvious reasons. Fascinated with Hitlers philosophy, he tried to persuade Hitler to come to Iran as much as possible, to try and reform the nation as well as try to stay in contact with the leader himself. After numerous attempts to try and seduce the fuhrer, all attempts failed. Soon after the failer, Mr. Vooj Ahjins committed suicide, where it lead to Doctor Houmayoun to take control of the groups future fate.

I think it's pretty obvious why this piece of hearsay was removed but I felt it should be left here in case anybody could confirm some of the less ludicrous elements of it e.g. the existence of Vooj Ahjins or his homosexuality. Google turns up nothing although I know that Iranian names in English often have a lot of different spellings so I'm leaving it here just in case. Keresaspa (talk) 18:40, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Neo-Fascism category edit

I have a very basic question: Why is SUMKA classified under "Neo Fascism" while the Turkish party MHP ist not? Contrary to the actually racist, fascist MHP (Grey Wolves), (original) SUMKA has never been racist, accepting all races in Iran, but rather nationalist and patriotic. Hence, this classification just undermines Wikipedia's seriosity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.12.171.76 (talk) 22:34, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

What's the symbol in the Sumka flag meant to be? edit

Is SUMKA defunct? edit

I can't find any sources saying they are. Firekong1 (talk) 11:42, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I already added a source by Cambridge University Press, speaking of them in the past tense:
  • "SUMKA was the abbreviation for Sosiyalist Melli Kargaran Iran, or Iran's Nationalist Socialist Workers Party. This was a fascist organization founded in April 1951 by Davud Monshizadeh." -- Rahnema, Ali (2015). Behind the 1953 Coup in Iran: Thugs, Turncoats, Soldiers, and Spooks. Cambridge University Press. p. 54.
There's no rule that says we are ought to have the words "defunct" in the source.

Added another source as well:
  • "Sumka was a small but openly fascist party that in every respect fashioned itself after the defunct German Nationalist Socialist Party." -- Amanat, Abbas (2017). Iran: A Modern History. Yale University Press. p. 535

I see. Thanks for info. But if such a party were to somehow be revived, would it be qualified to change "was" to "is"? Firekong1 (talk) 18:47, 4 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
@LouisAragon Does it qualify? Firekong1 (talk) 22:00, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced ideologies edit

There's too many unsourced ideologies in this article. Should we just remove all of them if we don't have sources for them? Firekong1 (talk) 22:00, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I removed all of those that were unsourced. Wikipedia is written using reliable sources, not personal opinions or assumptions. - LouisAragon (talk) 18:16, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
