Where?? edit

According to this: Welcome To Rummat Heib, this place figured in the 1922, 1931 and 1945 census...but I cannot find it, not in the Nazareth district, nor in Tiberias or Safad districts. So where is it located in the census? Huldra (talk) 22:13, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Huldra: If the coordinates given here are correct, it is 'Arab el Heib, Nazareth sub-district, included under Rummana in the 1931 census (p75, not the same place as Rummanah p70). Zerotalk 22:40, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Rummana also appears in a village list of 1945 in the Nazareth sub-district. Zerotalk 22:47, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Rummana, p. 75 in the 1931 census is Rumana, Israel...and that doesn't explain the 1922 and 1945 census, Huldra (talk) 22:50, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Also, Rumana, Israel is quite a bit south of Nazareth, while Rumat al-Heib is north of Nazareth: more likely that was another part of the Arab al-Heib. (Arab el Hujeirat is eg mentioned under several localities) Huldra (talk) 23:15, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm not convinced. The location given for Rumana, Israel at 179/243 is only 1km north of the location given here for Rumat al-Heib. Moreover, the modern map shows Rumana and Rumat Heib 1km apart. Zerotalk 09:13, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

You are right, Rumana, Israel isn't south of Nazareth (..it is south of Karmiel , I mistook), and close to Rumat al-Heib. So it was probably counted with Rumana, Israel in the 1931 census. That still doesn't explain the numbers, though....nor can I find anything resembling it the 1922 or 1945 numbers, Huldra (talk) 20:41, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
The numbers are a mystery. Perhaps 290 in 1945 is someone's calculation of half of Rummana's 590. Zerotalk 22:28, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
That seems highly unscientific...Huldra (talk) 22:31, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
