I am not sure the flying in of 'Australians' (who are actually ethnic Tokelauans LIVING IN Australia) can be classed as "artificially" bolstering their strength. 92.1.184.42 (talk) 13:57, 5 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Of course it is. Rugby league has done much the same in Scotland - when RU players couldn't be bought, they were brought in. So the Scottish RL team has lots of Aussies and English people who are second/third gen ethnic Scots. More recently they have started concentrating on growth within, which is better.--MacRusgail (talk) 15:37, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia make a big thing of neutrality. With the greatest respect to the author, and admitting that we all give a bit of a spin against the other code from time to time, I didn't therefore think it appropriate to put the word National in inverted commas and otherwise attempt negative inference rather than neutrality. Okay, "national" in inverted commas may be a "bit much", but a lot of rugby league national teams don't have a great connection with their countries. It's often the children or grandchildren of people from these countries that make the national teams, or people who emigrated as small children, rather than long term residents.--MacRusgail (talk) 12:08, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
