Naming citations edit

I'm trying to polish the article a bit, reorganizing contents and simplifying the texts. In doing so, I'm always attributing names to citations (references). This should facilitate reusing them and I wanted to invite other editors to do the same, at least for articles that might be mentioned more than one time. :) ► LowLevel (talk) 19:06, 20 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I will explain how named references have been used; it might simplify to other editors the search of information:
  • source-announcement: an article published at the beginning of April 2022 that states that the game was announced
  • source-interview: the first main interviews with Gilbert and Grossman, full of information on many topics
  • source-lastgame: article that supports the claim that the game will conclude the series
  • source-mim: article about the "Monkey Island Mondays", sometimes they report details about the UI or the settings
  • source-releasedate: article with information on the release date, the pre-ordering and the "horse armor" DLC
  • source-backlash: article written after the first wave of backlash
  • source-harassment: article written after Gilbert received insults and closed the comments on his blog

Ending edit

The plot section currently describes the ending like this.

“Descending beneath Monkey Island, Guybrush follows the catacombs and opens a hidden door. He emerges in a theme park recreation of Melee Island, revealing LeChuck and the others to all be animatronics. Guybrush opens the chest containing the secret and finds a novelty T-shirt inside. Boybrush finds this ending unsatisfying. Elaine arrives and invites Guybrush to join her on a new adventure.”

I recently played through the game, and this is NOT how it ended in my playthrough. There was simply no way to open the chest containing the secret, and I simply walked off with Elaine. The epilogue then featured Guybrush telling his son the secret was simply and adventure. Tvx1 16:58, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

The ending has variations, which depend on the player's choices/actions. The chest can be opened, and its key is held by one of the animatronic puppets right next to it. Here's a video claiming to have all endings.--LaukkuTheGreit (TalkContribs) 18:22, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Then the article should reflect that instead of arbitrarily chosing one possible ending as thé ending. Tvx1 17:19, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
