I noticed that "respiratory centre" currently redirects to Respiratory_centre#Ventilatory_Pattern. Should this be a separate article? 2 alternative proposals to merge

I have noticed there are a number of related articles on the respiratory centers of the brain. It seems that this one, and the one on control of respiration are the main ones, but this article is too short and stubby, whereas the control of respiration article is more about the physiology rather than the anatomy. I was thinking that maybe we should augment this article with much or all of the information from the control of respiration article, then redirect control of respiration here? What do you think?

In the alternative, maybe you could merge the articles on the dorsal respiratory group, the ventral respiratory group, the pre-Bötzinger complex, the apneustic center and the pneumotaxic center into this one. Although the apneustic center and the pneumotaxic center seem to have opposite functions, it seems that all 4 of them work closely to regulate breathing. Bwrs (talk) 19:44, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
