Talk:Reconstruction Treaties

Possibly copied edit

The article itself (especially in the first paragraph) seems like it's been copied from somewhere else and just doesn't feel right. It feels like it was written like an article in a magazine. The first sentence:

"On the eve of the American Civil War in 1861"

seems copied from this sentence

"On the eve of the Civil War in 1861"

the first sentence is found in the wikipedia article, while the second sentence is from another article published by the Oklahoma historical society. Not to mention they're both the first sentences found in each of the articles.[1]

The rest of the wikipedia article seems like it was copied from an article somewhere else on the internet. Articles usually start with a brief description of the topic, which this page does not have. Some examples that I am talking about include:

Examples: edit

• "The Great Train Wreck of 1918 occurred on July 9, 1918, in Nashville, Tennessee, United States."

• "The Watergate scandal was a major political scandal in the United States involving the administration of President Richard Nixon from 1972 to 1974 that led to Nixon's resignation."

• "The MS Estonia sank on Wednesday, 28 September 1994, between about 00:50 and 01:50 (UTC+2) as the ship was crossing the Baltic Sea, en route from Tallinn, Estonia, to Stockholm, Sweden."

All 3 examples above are from actual articles, and provide a short and easily understandable description of what the event was.
