There is a fair amount of academic writing about the film that you might also look into. There is, for instance, a chapter in the book Velvet Barrios, as well as an article by Chris Holmlund called "Postfeminism from A to G" in Cinema Journal that you might find helpful. DELETION NOTICE!!! edit

On July 25, 2015 I made a series of edits to the Real Women Have Curves page and upon returning to the page on July 30, 2015 all of my edits had been deleted. I am editing this page as part of a college course assignment, and would appreciate any feedback on my work via the Real Women Have Curves talk page. Per WP:BRD, your BOLD edits were reverted with edit summaries that explained each of the edits made. A film poster or DVD is an acceptable fair use in a film infobox. You have not explained why you placed this fair use image with of the lead actress from eight years later that is no way related to the film. You removed the paragraph giving the general consensus of reviews as also expressed by RottenTomatoes and Metacritic without any explanation. Common Sense Media is not a Wikipedia:Reliable source and should not be used in the article, which once again you did not explain why you added it to the article. You need to start using Help:Edit summaries so other editors know why you made your edits. You also removed without explanation acceptable external links like iMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and Box Office Mojo. Per WP:BRD, once your edits are reverted, you should start a discussion, as you did here, but there needs to be a consensus formed instead of continually making your preferred edits. Aspects (talk)

The paragraph on "America Ferrara being a pop icon for many young women" does not seem to fit under the title of 'Academia'. I think it would make more sense for it to be shifted under 'Popular media'. I also think it would be valuable to include a short paragraph under 'Popular media' about Lupe Ontiveros' legacy after her passing in 2012. The Los Angeles Daily News came out with an article [1] titled "Lupe Ontiveros to be honored at `Real Women Have Curves' anniversary screening", reporting on how Josefina López "announced a scholarship established in Ontiveros' name after the screening at American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre." ALSO, Josefina López's name is mis-spelled in the info box on the right. It should be 'Josefina López' instead of 'Josephina Lopez'.Chanallissa (talk) 05:35, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
