Infobox - propulsion

Regarding my edit which was reverted: the masts do not belong in the propulsion section of the infobox because they were not involved in the propulsion of the ship. None of the other articles on solely steam-powered ships mention the masts in the propulsion section, for the same reason. This includes this ship's sister. I tried to find something more specific than "coal-fired boilers" but the exact type of engines aren't listed anywhere I could find. No citation is needed because this is information from the article itself; if citations are needed they should be on the article text. Thank you for this clear response. This is transitional period in maritime architecture, and although it may seem quite obvious to us that the masts were insignificant in terms of moving the vessel; the conservative perspective of potential passengers may have required the masts remain as symbolic reassurance or something of the sort. I hope in due course, a citation will present itself on this very subject. In the meantime, your common sense reasoning is clear and convincing. In my view, it was never the case that I disputed your point -- rather one of hoping for some kind of support consistent with WP:V.

Looking back, let me ask you this? Does my revert appear to have been plausibly constructive ..., or rather, would you be more inclined to characterize it as misguided? --Tenmei (talk) 20:28, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

VPL photos

I was looking up Edwards Bros. photographers on google and found a series of their images of this vessel on the Vancouver Public Library online collection; for some reason the images won't load for me, but my ISP has its shortcomings, there appear to be images available, the actual PD status for each I haven't looked at; most older VPL photos are public domain. here and here and here and here and here. Some have similar titles, haven't seen the images.Skookum1 (talk) 06:31, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
