Talk:Postal (film)

Added detailed synopsis edit

I saw Postal last night at a special screening at the Tribeca Cinemas. I've added a detailed plot synopsis that I believe covers all important events in the film.

And surprise! ...It was actually really funny! I was shocked. 207.45.43.67 (talk) 21:15, 2 April 2008 (UTC) I loved it too. If it was directed by the guys that made south park, but the same movie, people would have praised it. Derelix (talk) 23:00, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

to win edit

"It has been confirmed that one of the combatants will be famous Internet comedy writer Richard 'Lowtax' Kyanka, who has stated that he does not intend to 'win' in the traditional sense."

But in the modern sense? Which is that exactly? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.68.157.4 (talkcontribs) 07:51, 24 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Removal of 'deletion policy message' edit

production has indeed been cofirmed for this movie, thus it is no longer speculative and therefore deserves to stay — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.184.127.109 (talk) 06:47, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jackman in Postal = Bull edit

I removed all mention that Jackman would have been signed on for Postal. How a plain-as-day Easter Fools as this found its way here, I have no idea. (user:HannuMakinen) 20:42, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

boxing edit

uwe boll in bowing??? what? if i cant find sources im will remove it, please if you know some sources list it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ScotchMB (talkcontribs) 12:56, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • This bit is actually true. The source is on Boll's page but I'm not sure how this source-stuff works so someone else will have to do it. (user:HannuMakinen)

Poster? edit

Is that poster legit? If not, please remove it, swiftly! (user:HannuMakinen)

Grow up! edit

I don't care if you don't like/hate/want to kill Boll, Stop vandalizing the fucking page! -TheHande 10:25, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

There might be quite a bit more in the coming day or two, after this. --Dreaded Walrus 10:36, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Relese? edit

Can anyone find out when this movie is going "to be banned from a theatre near you"? :b Spring 2007 is a bit soon so release date should be out. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.209.130.235 (talk) 15:52, 21 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

I don't know, but i am very scared. Postal the movie. omg what an absolute crap fest this will be. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.69.48 (talk) 18:23, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

8.5? edit

I think not Dr Boll, the rating for postal on IMDB is 4.4/10 when I checked just now. Still probably his highest rated film. 70.71.194.105 06:38, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I removed it. Heart of America is higher rated, with a phenomenal rating of 4.5. -- memset 12:42, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reception & box office edit

"It performed even worse in Austria, where it ended its box office run after two weeks with a miserable $5,165.!" I live in Austria/Carinthia and no cinema showed Postal here.. after 3 weeks of complaining Carinthias biggest cinema showed it for 3 days.. maybe this should be mentioned as reason for this —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.121.114.199 (talk) 13:09, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Delayed edit

Anyone have any information as to why this movie was delayed from a February 1st, 2008 release to a TBA 2008 release? Any sources? CaffeineJunkie (talk) 00:45, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

No clue, but now even the May 23rd date seems wrong. Or maybe it's just unpopular, because I can't find a theatre in America where it's being shown. Kevin (talk) 06:29, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Finally, some news. Hmm. Only a select few theatres, I see. Jeesh, at this rate, they might as well have let the movie go direct to DVD. Then at least it might be watchable in America by now. Kevin (talk) 20:56, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dan Clarke edit

Is the Dan Clarke listed as the producer really the former Champ Car driver Dan Clarke? This is the first I've ever heard of him being involved in any type of movie, so I can't help but wonder if this is an error in the linking. 98.16.97.65 (talk) 05:11, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's an error. I've piped the link to Dan Clarke (producer) instead. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:51, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cleaning Up Page edit

It seems that a lot of work can be done on this entry...the opening paragraphs are mostly a bunch of unimportant trivia bits, other bits from the article can be made into a "Production" section, "Plot" can be expanded, perhaps there can be a "similarities to game" section, some sections can be combined, etc., etc.
Therefore...I'd like to give the page a makeover, yes? After all, I'd like to be the first in before the film's inevitable cult following in forty or so years.Skibz777 (talk) 06:25, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Highest Rating Game Adaptation? edit

"Postal holds an IMDb rating of 4/10, the highest rated of his video game adaptations..." This is clearly not true, as by looking on IMDB, one can find various sources to counter this statement, including the DOOM movie. I would recommend that it be changed, as its current information is incorrect. --76.95.51.110 (talk) 02:19, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think the key word in the sentence is "the highest rated of his video game adaptations". The Doom movie wasn't by Boll. :) Dreaded Walrus t c 15:53, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Oh, right. I overlooked that word, my mistake. >.< --76.95.51.110 (talk) 00:45, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
No problem! I almost didn't spot it, too. :) Dreaded Walrus t c 02:23, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I see a dramatic difference in what is listed at box office mojo : $146,741 and what is in the box office section —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.248.131.187 (talk) 23:44, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Revenue edit

The Revenue of $146,741 can't be right, can it?

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=intl&id=postal.htm only names Germany and Italy. Hasn't Postal been in Cinema in any other country? (It's a shame it has been only viewing in 4 theaters in USA) 95.89.136.65 (talk) 21:32, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
