Recommended artist revisions

I have a few observations regarding this article that I believe need to be addressed. Posting to request input before making what could be considerable changes:

• Artists not primarily (or at all) known for miniatures: there are numerous artists listed in the various sections that do not have the word miniature anywhere within their bio. Examples: Simon Renard de St. André, Jean Cotelle, Nicolas de Largillière, François Boucher, Jean Germain Drouais, Heinrich Füger, Pierre-Paul Prud'hon. I counted over a dozen in a cursory examination. Should these be removed?
• Artists with no article: there are a lot of redlinks here. If this is to include notable miniature artists, shouldn't we expect an existing article for the artist? Some of them are what I only assume are last names, but there's no indication on who the artist actually is (e.g. "White", "Garriot", "Festa")
• Artists not grouped geographically: even though the article is organized by country, there are a number of artists in the wrong country. Under FRANCE, there's Peter Adolf Hall of Sweden and Friedrich Heinrich Füger of Austria. Under ENGLAND, there's Johann Waldemar von Rehling-Quistgaard (Danish), Bess Norris (Australian), Eda Nemoede Casterton (American). Would require relocating and possible adding new sections (or removing).

It's a very neglected article. Over 10kb of it (about 50%) came from EB 1911 [1]. I'd go ahead and sort it out. Category:Portrait miniaturists has 162 in it, but maybe not the right ones. Johnbod (talk) 21:54, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, that what I thought. I've purged at least what I considered the most egregious examples of names that should not be included, and tried to do some copy-editing to tighten things up a bit. I'll come back to do a more detailed pass at another time. Keithh (talk) 22:35, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
