Location of Port Tewfik edit

Is Port Tewfik known as Port Taufiq? This is near El Suez (Al Suways) in Egypt, which seems a likely place for this.

References edit

OK, I know this article is lacking in proper references. I do understand why the reference to the National Archives article was deleted as an unreliable source (hey, pesky Wikis, don't you hate 'em?). I'd like to request that any move to delete this article be held off, while I try to source some reliable evidence.

I was kind of hoping someone with more knowledge on the subject would pick up the baton, but as it's looking like an unloved subject, and I rather like the sculptor, I'll undertake some more research.

I'm sticking an under construction notice on the article, just to flag up that's not been forgotten. Any help on the subject is of course welcome, but I don't think anyone out there knows much about this. The request for an expert has met with radio silence, sadly.

I've dug up some more reliable sources now, so the article isn't completely unsourced. --Cnbrb 11:09, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Location - old and new edit

The article cites the original location in Port Tewfik/Taufiq - the modern location in Cairo is in Nabil el Wakkad, Cairo, which appears to be about here 30°04′44″N 31°19′46″E / 30.078759°N 31.329403°E / 30.078759; 31.329403 (satellite image shows a cemetery-like area).

Could quote both locations in the article, but they need more precise verification. --Cnbrb 11:08, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
