Thanks and a note on standardisation or over-conformity?

For some reason on plant species pages there has arisen a standard form of the the first sentence of the lede: Some plant is a a plant of the family Someplantaceae. This is not a form insisted upon by Wikipedia:WikiProject_Plants/Template. In the two good article mentioned in that guide, Acacia pycnantha and Ornithogalum umbellatum, the first does follow the pattern, but in the second page there is a differing pattern. The use of "family 'family name'" is one I have only ever observed in the plant pages of wikipedia. In the page [[Family (biology)] they do not use it. At Australian universities and in all the scientific refereed papers I have read I do not recall coming across it. I usually follow the pattern. I am being lazy, I cut and paste formats from other plant articles and write now text to the framework. I also reserve the right to vary the pattern. There is no and there should not be that the introductory sentence of all biological entities should follow exactly the same wording. Brunswicknic (talk) 09:08, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

I don't much care either way. I do think there should be parallel construction: e.g. either "species of plant in the family Fooaceae" or "plant species in the Fooaceae family", where the taxon (plant/Fooaceae) and the rank (species/family) are given in the same order; "plant species in the family Fooaceae" is undesirable in my opinion.

This has long been WolfmanSF's axe to grind. William Avery started following WolfmanSF's example at some point, followed by SchreiberBike in 2018. I don't care much, and neither does Peter coxhead, but as he said on Hyperik's talk, "but the reality is that if you write "Pieridae family", sooner or later WolfmanSF will change it to "family Pieridae" – look at their contributions – so you may as well not."
