half a gig memory?! edit
On the old computer link, this computer is specced to be sold with 64 Kb memory, expandable to 512 Kb. For a 1981 computer, that's much more reasonable. Remember, the Commodore 64 was introduced only in 1982, and its memory was not (meant to be) expandable. 85.227.226.168 09:30, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Nintendo development edit
There is an ongoing dispute as to whether Nintendo actually produced Special Super Mario Bros. or whether it was an illegal port. Unless someone can produce a reference, I'm going to mark it as just "ported".

PC-8801 Super Mario Bros. Special is NEVER illegal port. It is ported by Hudson soft, and licensed by Nintendo. I saw Ad. of this game on MICOM-BASIC-Magazine. --118.83.5.207 (talk) 05:55, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
N-mode on newer machines edit
N-BASIC on model TR/FR/MR and later is hidden but still available. Boot V1-slow mode, and then type "NEW ON 1". Then N-mode starts. If you want to boot "N-DISK-BASIC", insert N-DISK-BASIC system disk before typing "NEW ON 1". But PC-88VA has no N-BASIC roms, so N-BASIC is not available on PC-88VA/2/3. Translation cleanup issue edit
The last sentence of the "Hardware" section reads: "A part of software corresponds to YM2608 and ADPCM. (ex: Snatcher)"

PC-80S31 edit
The PC-80S31 was a dual floppy unit that plugged into the PC-8801. Was this only sold in Japan (as a 100V unit) or was there a US version (with 110V input)? John a s (talk) 16:50, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
