Request to change description of Mongolia to include it being a Central Asian country

Mongolia and the Mongolian people are culturally, historically, and geographically part of the Central Asian area, the lands in between the settled civilizations of China, Persia, Russia, and India. Mongolia is part of the Turko-Mongol nomadic legacy that shaped the original idea of a "Central Asia" land with nomadic roots and at the crossroads of cultures. The normal Wikipedia definition is political. It was largely shaped by the Soviet conception of «Средняя Азия», or Middle Asia, and evolved from there since the independence of the Soviet States. The UN basically went along with the Soviet definition, and it had stuck ever since.

Mongolia, meanwhile, being geographically close to East Asian states and tugged eastward by East Asia’s irresistible economic gravity, thus became East Asia in Political eyes. Even into the 1990s, Mongolian songs would sing “Mongolia is at the heart of Central Asia”. But the geopolitical situation have long changed since then.

So yes, this is the political definition. But as I understand, we are discussing more of the anthropological, cultural, and historical definitions here. So, in this case, Mongolic peoples are an absolute core of Central Asia.

UNESCO also still considers Central Asia to include Mongolia.

I wonder if we can say that after the 2019 constitutional amendment, that Mongolia has now transitioned from a Semi-presidential republic to Parliamentary, given the President seems no longer available to veto bills, judicial appointment now in the hand of the parliament-appointed cabinet, and non re-electable (I know this last part is not that relevant).

I checked the CIA World Factbook, they still label Mongolia as a semi-presidential republic, but wikipedia already has many entry that is not in line with CIA World Factbook (CIA World Factbook label Algeria as presidential, here as semi-presidential).

Date format in this article should be DMY

I believe the date format use in Mongolia is YYYY-MMM-DD for cyrillic and Mongolian. But because this is English Wikipedia, IMO, it should be use DMY date format for instance (December 29, 1911 should be replaced with 29 December 1911). 36.65.47.156 (talk) 12:33, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

Right, YYYY-MMM-DD is not a valid date format in article text per MOS:DATEFORMAT, but DMY format is apprioate. -Fnlayson (talk) 14:47, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

Russian/English

Ten years ago, I pointed out that Russian was no longer the most common foreign language. I didn't have a reliable source, so I didn't put it into the article. However, the outdated statement that Russian was the #1 remained adn remains in the article -- without a source given at all. This really needs to be fixed. Petroglyphs in Mongolia and Gobi desert are an interesting topic related to art and prehistory, some of them registered by UNESCO. You could include some references, among them “Discovery of Prehistoric Ruins in Gobi Desert”, by Gonzalo de Salazar Serantes, Adoranten1998.
