How the hell do you make smoke bombs out of crappy peanut butter? JDS2005 (talk) 12:06, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the article I read, it was more like a smoke candle. The peanut oil and chemical stabilizers produced a dense black smoke when lit. Hotspur23 (talk) 10:06, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Date nut cake edit

There seems also to have been a date nut cake dessert item, but it's not mentioned (although fruitcake is mentioned). Badagnani (talk) 03:40, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

There were a lot of changes made after Vietnam. I just listed the wartime variants because there hasn't been a lot written about the post-Vietnam-War C-ration. Hotspur23 (talk) 03:21, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

There's a 1966 photo showing a can of date nut cake in the article. It's the can on the right, with the can opener sitting on it. Badagnani (talk) 03:26, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The picture is of a can of Date Pudding, an alternate for the "D-2 (Cake)" group. I have since amended the article. Thank you for spotting it or I would never have spotted it. None of my sources mentioned it. Hotspur23 (talk) 04:55, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

How did you figure out it was pudding if none of the sources mention it? Only the word "Date" is visible in the photo. Badagnani (talk) 05:27, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Chocolate disks edit

Were the chocolate disks essentially like a chocolate bar, but made into a round disk shape due to the fact that they were packed in round cans? Badagnani (talk) 05:38, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Chocolate disks are simply generic M&M's. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 14:12, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
The disks were a high-calorie chocolate cookie known by GI's as the John Wayne Bar. W. B. Wilson (talk) 18:55, 12 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Blanked text edit

Why was this text blanked (always without comment)?
