OK the Text / paragraph on design states this is a COGLAG or an IEP (integrated electric propulsion) propulsion plant - the info box for propulsion specifies only 2 LM 2500s for Propulsion - and nothing IRT ships electrical generation. The Prior Atago class has 4 LM2500s for propulsion - these have only 2- yet list the same top speed. There is once you learn details a big difference between a COGLAG and a IEP plant. need information on the "primer movers" for the electrical generation - and more on if it is a COGLAG or an IEP.(or could it be a COGLOG - which I highly doubt). It seems that the auxiliary propulsion system was omitted in the specifications table, so I have added it. The Maya class uses the COGLAG propulsion system, in which shafts are driven by motors powered by generators using M7A-05 gas turbine engines at low speeds, and LM2500-30 gas turbine engines are also added at high speeds. Whether this propulsion system can achieve the same 30 knots as the Atago class has been questioned by Japanese journals, and it should be noted that the speed that was declared to be 30 knots for the Atago class is referred to as " approximately 30 knots" for the Maya class.
