"...the commercial interests of emerging capitalism in preference to the pillars of the older order. " If I were more sure what this intends, I'd be more confident of improving it. Capitalism was well established in England in the sixteenth century: what aspect of it might be "emerging" in the mid-seventeenth, and what the "old order" (monarchy?) signified, are both unclear. --Wetman (talk) 01:14, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
