iTunes

Please see Official links. Nowhere on that list is iTunes prohibited from being a reliable source. iTunes pages do provide important info such as release date, record label, and most importantly they provide a valid reliable source that a single/ablum has been released. This has been debated before many times. iTunes is ok if it is the *only* source of a release date. However, you are not using it that way in the article. You openly say it is available for purchase on iTunes. You just give the iTunes link that never sources information. Bgwhite (talk) 16:59, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

• IF you read the music section carefully, it does state release dates for his singleds, which I have obtained from iTunes. With the declining power of the physical music industry, iTunes and Amazon are now the leaders of music distribution, and their info is derived from what music distributors provide them. The discography simply allows readers to refer to the exact link to the single for info pertaining to cover artwork, release date, versions (e.g, remixes), etc. There are many commercial sites that also serves as official sites (for example a company's official website). Adding a link does not necessary state that Wikipedia is being used for commercial gain. This is an information website, and these links do provide info for somethings that I will have trouble posting on iTunes, especially when it comes to copyrighted images and sound. --XLR8TION (talk) 18:26, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

I said iTunes and other commercial music sites. The main reason I say commercial is to not promote the idea of illegal downloading. Most artists only release commercial sites in order to generate royalties. Some (like Prince) release their music for free. --XLR8TION (talk) 18:58, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Doesn't matter as you cannot promote the buying of the music. All somebody has to do is look at the official website or do a simple search. The promotion has to be removed. You are not understanding. You CAN use iTunes as a REFERENCE if no other reference is available. I'm NOT saying it can't be used as a reliable reference. In the article, you say you can buy at iTunes and only give a general link. You are using it as promotion, not for a reference. Official links doesn't mention any specific example... you are also barking up the wrong tree. Official links is for links given in the external links section and not as a reliable source. I am not using it as a promotional link. The purpose of the link is to allow the reader to visually see the single's information on a site that can provide him/her information on artwork, release date, and in some cases, sound as many sites do provide sound samples. The list I have referred to does NOT prohibit the use of iTunes. Many artists on this site have iTunes links, and surpringly only Manila's article is being assaulted. Why the double standard? It boggles my mind. Let's focus on creating articles and not creating headaches or drama for editors who want to create a well-rounded, referenced article. The list I have referred to is from Wikipedia's official help pages. It's not user created. Hence, it's is there to provide guidance and direction. Three people have said it is promotional. You know WP:OTHERSTUFF exists and always will. I delete promotional iTunes and Amazon links when I see it. I delete social medial links when an official website is given. I cannot delete things I haven't seen. Bgwhite (talk) 23:00, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Unconstructive Edits

Please do not discuss All-Stars activity on Manila's page. That should be discussed on the series article page just like all other previous seasons of Drag Race covered episode highlight's on their respective season's page. Second, your grammar is really bad. Your punctuation is lacking and your repetitive use of the words should an apparent lacking of proper grammar. Please stop reverting the edits I have made. Prior to yesterday, NO ONE complained about the article's grammar.

Also DO NOT write on my Talk Page. This should be discussed only on this article. One more edit on my page and I will file a vandalism grievance with this site. --XLR8TION (talk) 16:18, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Manila's article SHOULD NOT contain detailed episode-per-episode recaps. That is redundant info that will be covered in the All-Stars article. Manila's article should only cover personal achievements. Once All-Stars is over, a recap on his achievements such as challenge wins, and possibly, winning the contest can be included. Ok, I looked at the history of the page.

First off, per Wikipedia rules, both of you should be blocked for violating the 3RR rule.

I agree with XLR8TION that the dress comment shouldn't be added. Not sure if it is a "shameless plug" as XLR8TION said, but it is not encyclopedic and is a very minor detail.

The second addition could be added. I know nothing about the show, but if Luzon teamed up with Latrice Royale for the majority of the show, it could be added. However, the reference that came along with it is not good as it is a video. If there was a better reference that showed the two were paired up for however long, then it could be added. Incorrect Birth day

So I noticed the article had a crazy birth day of Aug 10, 1984.

I can source Aug 1981 from: http://radaris.com/~Karl-Westerberg/428106393

and 1981 from: http://www.mylife.com/karlwesterberg

Anyhow I know he graduated HS class of 1999 and have grade school year books verifying the same (Gethsemane Lutheran School, Maplewood, MN)

Without paying for information, I can't do better than Aug 1984.

So I fixed the date to just the verifiable 1981.

Can someone with a public records account verify?

Or should we just assume that the Aug 10 part was correct and make it Aug 10 1981?

Abrupt change of gender in Personal Life

I left the "he" because I assume this applies to Westerberg if he is not cross-dressing 24/7. But without any guidance, I changed the "he" in the last sentence to "Luzon" -- why this last name is not used throughout the article confounds me ( not sure if https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Gender_identity applies to drag).
