vocoder edit

it's NOT a vocoder, it's a pitch corrector, and who the hell is this useless roger troutman guy —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.239.148.134 (talk) 17:58, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

LOL, man - Roger Troutman is a legend. Guy who made the talkbox popular, it's kinda, shameful you never heard of him. '70s funk says hello and whatnot. - My.life.is.muzik... (talk) 19:20, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Remixes? edit

I know there is a remix with Gorilla Zoe and those other people, but I haven't heard or seen the remix with T-Pain. Can anyone confirm the remix with T-Pain? The Trillest Dude (talk) 15:31, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is no remix ft T-Pain. People just confuse Gabriel Antonio with T-Pain for some reason. Search 'lollipop remix t-pain' in google and it will come up with Gabriel Antonio's version. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.16.75.231 (talk) 16:26, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

some one needs to make a page for the remix wut kanyne its offical —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.97.207.193 (talk) 15:55, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wiz Khalifa made a freestyle called like candy --Mikuck (talk) 00:31, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is it really necessary to add Framing Hanley so prominently on this page? I don't think their remix was popular enough to warrant their own section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.250.141.172 (talk) 21:03, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Roger Troutman edit

He is not useless, you may remember a song called California Love by a guy called Tupac Shakur? Well Roger 'useless' Troutman is the guy who used the vocoder for the chorus of that song... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.16.75.231 (talk) 13:16, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh well, a popular misconception - Roger Troutman was a Talkbox guy, not a Vocoder guy. Those two are often confused, but these are totally different effects. - My.life.is.muzik... (talk) 19:21, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Anybody who calls Roger Troutman useless obviously doesn't show respect for the dead. Troutman died nearly 10 years ago due to violence in his family. Next time due research before you call a legendary man useless! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.37.115 (talk) 01:03, 7 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Danity Kane edit

Hidden Message edit

Some people say than when you play the song backwards, you can hear him talking about how he wants to kill somebody. How come nobody mentioned anything about the hidden message? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.37.115 (talk) 15:50, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

GA Review edit

This review is transcluded from Talk:Lollipop (Lil Wayne song)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Sorry to inform the editors but I have quick-failed the article due to major concerns.

  • The article fails to include major aspects of the song especially the background of its writing.
  • The chart performance is not well-sourced, as well as some parts of the article.
  • The lead does not comply WP:LEAD.
  • The image Image:Lollipop Lil Wayne video.jpg is not well-supplied by the required fair use rationale, and there are some non-encyclopedic texts.

Please address the above concerns first before renominating the article. Thank you and happy editing. --Efe (talk) 10:18, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Samples edit

In the last thirty seconds of song they are sampling Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# minor, named the number one classical piece sampled by hiphop artists —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunshine gudasz (talkcontribs) 16:13, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

JJ edit

The third song on JJ's album JJ° 2, Ecstasy is sort of a cover of Lollipop, but with different lyrics and quite different arrangements. It's like a good version of the song.

Genre edit

"Lollipop" is a Pop song, but somebody keeps changing the genre to Dirty Rap. Most of Lil Wayne's songs are rap, but this particular one is not.

It's not a RAP song unless it has RAPPING in it. A rap song is a song where the lyrics in the verses are rapped, or spoken rythmicly to a beat, instead of sung.

The lyrics in "Lollipop" song are sung, not rapped, so I think it's either a pop song or an R&B song. It's not Dirty Rap. The songs "Let's Get High" by Dr. Dre, "Freaky Tales" by Too Short, and "Make it Nasty" by Tyga are Dirty Rap.
