Type 97 . Wrong again.

First, I have changed the link for the Type 97 light machine gun to the proper Type 97 aircraft machine gun, which is the Navy's Type 97, a fixed Vickers-based gun used on the Mitsubishi A6M and others. The Type 97 light machine gun is A.) An Army weapon, and B.) An infantry weapon, not an aircraft weapon. Thus it is not on the Japanese Naval Aircraft weaponry list. Second, I have removed the link Type 97 light machine gun from the section "defensive rear armament", because, as I said, it's not a Navy weapon, was never used in aircraft, and the Type 97 aircraft machine gun that WAS used by the Navy was exclusively a fixed weapon. I instead changed it to the Type 1 machine gun, which was the Navy's copy of the MG 15 machine gun, much like the Army's Type 98, which is also a copy. The Navy and Army did not ever share weapons. Ever. When they used the same weapons, they gave them different names and made sure they were not compatible; thus you have the Type 89 machine gun and the Type 97 aircraft machine gun, both 7.7mm Vickers, but which don't even share a cartridge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by .45Colt (talk • contribs) 17:34, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
