Merge with Disney Channel Programs

I think they should be merged. The pages are the same thing, there is no need to have two pages with the same information.

Disney Channel programs

If Disney Channel programs is a list of programs broadcast by The Disney Channel and produced solely by The Disney Channel, then it should remain separate and the title should be changed to "Programs produced by The Disney Channel". If it includes programs produced by other companies, then I agree with the merge. FWIW - Her Pegship 15:42, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

There should be a timeline graphic for this article. íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 15:17, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

I Don't Remember These...

I don't remember Full House EVER airing on Disney Channel (though the show looks like it would/could be a good fit). Either that was way back when (i.e.: before 2000) or someone got the show confused with Growing Pains. WAVY 10 17:22, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

in which countries do some of these series air on Disney Channel?

I highly doubt that these some of these series, like Camp Lazlo, air on disney channel in the united states. So if somebody could write which countries if it's one other than the U.S., and provide a source, that would be helpful.72.230.111.150 14:01, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

By the above comment I mean if it's a program exclusive to one country only, and it's not a series made by Disney, put which country the show airs in.Internetcrazy69.95.18.4 19:05, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Organization

This list needs to be organized like the Nick one. 67.188.172.165 19:32, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I disagree, I think that particular article is difficult to navigate and this one is quite simple. The alphabetized list of this article makes it simple to navigate. Thank You. 53180 23:47, 1 September 2007 (UTC)53180.
Then we probably should at least add parentheticals signifying which are original series as opposed to series no longer on first run anywhere. WAVY 10 Fan 17:29, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I agree that we should at least seperate them into original series and syndicated ones. It would prevent viewers from being mislead by the content on the page. We could still leave it in alphabetical order to where it would still be simple to navigate. Brandude (talk) 22:51, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
I disagree. The title of this page is called list of programs broadcast by Disney Channel. It serves its purpose just how it is, and there is already a page just for Disney Channel original series: List of Disney Channel series. Also, the opening sentence specifically says This is a list of television programs formerly or currently broadcast by Disney Channel in US & some other countries so its clear that some are currently airing and some are formerly aired. It’s hard to tell if they'll bring something back for a while and then remove it so dates are also unnecessary and broadcast dates will be on the program articles main page. Thank You. 53180 (talk) 18:34, 19 January 2008 (UTC)53180.

Muppet Babies ?

I don't remember seeing Muppet Babies on Disney Channel it was on Nickelodeon (1992-September 1999) and Odyssey Network (October 1999-April 2000) is it supposed to air in the future ? Matthew Cantrell (talk) 01:25, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Foreign Countries

Does the head paragraph which says "This is a list of television programs currently, rerunning, and formerly on Disney Channel in the United States and some international counterparts. Programs with countries in parentheses are shown on Disney Channel exclusively in that country only. " mean that the list should include programs exclusive to the U.S. only or varations of those shown in the U.S. as well. An example of what I mean is as follows: A Kind of Magic is shown only in France and should clearly be on the list. But if Phil of the Future, which is shown in the U.S. and in the U.K. is no longer shown here, but is still shown in the U.K., should it be in both the "Rerun Programs (No New Episodes)" list and the "Former Programs (No Longer Run On Disney Channel)" list or just the latter? Divod (talk) 06:43, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Mini-Series

I think it should be included somehow, somewhere, in the main paragraph that mini-series are included in the list. Divod (talk) 06:47, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Years in Former Programs

The years in the Former Programs section are random, sporadic, ambiguous, and often innaccurate. If someone could help fix this problem by finding airing dates for those with none and fix the ambiguity of some of those that do (Ex. "Late 1990's- Early 2000's) it would be a great help. Another nice idea would be putting the years in (x-y in new episodes, x-z in reuns) format (for ex. see Rerun Programs). Thanks! Divod (talk) 05:26, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

These are NOT still on

I watch Disney Channel, not all the time, but enough to know what is on it and what isn't. I noticed some of the shows on the list are wrong.

The Oz Kids-I don't remember EVER seeing this on Disney Channel. I don't recognize most of the shows in the "former programs" section, so it might have been on previously, but it said it airs in reruns. Timmy Time-I also don't remember ever seeing it, and it was also put under "in reruns". Also, some of the shows here are on PLAYHOUSE DISNEY. This is a big difference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TVtriviagirl (talkcontribs) 03:09, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

I think, due to all the vandalism this page gets, it should be semi-protected, much like the Disney Channel page --JohnDoe98 (talk) 21:06, 6 May 2012 (UTC) Sophia the first already happend so it is not coming up yet it has already had 2 shows maybe more — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.68.89.119 (talk) 01:00, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Cleanup

I'm sorry but this page is a huge mess! Someone continues coming here and moving everything around. Shows that haven't aired new episodes in like 10+ years are getting added to the current shows list and also some are moved to the re-run list when they aren't re-running at all. This page seriously needs to be cleaned up and also may I suggest a semi-protect or a mod for this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ijoshiexo (talkcontribs) 23:47, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Fish Hooks series finale air date confirmed.

It's April 4, 2014, so it's not "present" anymore now that we know it's series finale air date. I know this because it was confirmed in a promo on Disney Channel.

Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained and Mabel's Guide to Life have ended.

Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained ended October 18, 2013, and Mabel's Guide to Life ended February 7, 2014. I know this because according to the promos, they said that it was "Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained Week with a week of new shorts and Mabel's Guide to Life Week again, just for that one week.

WanderFan2001 (talk) 17:06, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

Fish Hooks no longer part of the "current" animated series column of Disney Channel.

The series finale just aired 6 minutes ago and you can erase the "series finales" column with Fish Hooks in it and you can put it in the "former programming, "original programming",", column. So now, the only animated current series' on Disney Channel are Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls. 68.57.243.166 (talk) 01:43, 5 April 2014 (UTC) Guest.

Gravity Falls no longer a Disney Channel original series

  • This series moved to Disney XD April 21st, so now, the only animated series left on Disney Channel is Phineas and Ferb, I know, just like in the boring 2007-2010 era, but this time, the Mickey Mouse shorts are accompanying it. So now, until they decide to put this show (and Wander Over Yonder), back on Disney Channel, it'll need to go into the "Former programming, Original programming" section. 68.57.243.166 (talk) 17:28, 4 May 2014 (UTC) A wiki contributor

Star and the Forces of Evil air date more specifically confirmed.

It's coming out in October.

Boy Meets World is a current show

Since Girl Meets World got announced, Boy Meets World started airing marathons, so Boy Meets World is a current acquired show on Disney Channel, it should be put in the current shows, in the acquired programming section, then after the marathons, it can be put back in the former programming. Phineas and Ferb is still a Disney Channel Original Series, Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars is coming up on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Also, Fish Hooks is not airing on Disney Channel anymore, it's airing on Disney XD now. Also, Gravity Falls is still a Disney Channel show, Season 2 will air first on Disney Channel, also, how are Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and Wander Over Yonder "Acquired programming", they're still Disney Channel shows, since they first aired on Disney Channel and they're airing on Disney Channel now. Who keeps putting Boy Meets World in Current Programming, it stopped airing marathons since Father's Day. So it's a former program. Don't put it in the Current Programming till the next time it might come on.

Simplifying this list

This needs to be simplified tremendously so that it looks like List of programs broadcast by CBS. That is:

  • Major sections: Current programming, Upcoming programming, Former programming
  • In Current programming section: Live action, Animated, Preschool (block), or add a Genre column as with List of programs broadcast by HBO. If you want to break that further down into Sitcoms and dramas then go ahead.
  • For each table entry: Title of the series, original premiere date on Disney Channel (you can date format this to just show years), and Notes
  • Remove ending dates - the series themselves already have this, and if anything needs to be said about the show like it was original-run simultaneously with Disney XD / ABC Family, it can go in Notes.
  • If you want to keep the ending date, provide a citation for it. That it is sitting in Former programming is good enough to indicate that it's no longer actively broadcasting.
  • When it is a rerun, acquired by Disney syndication or outside syndication is not terribly notable. There is already the List of Disney Channel series and List of Disney Channel Original Movies for that.

Thoughts? Comments? -AngusWOOF (talk) 00:13, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Another thought:

  • If you are concerned that the show should indicate that it has new episodes, then add an asterisk or a column (New episodes? Yes/No) to indicate this. It is okay to add an {{As of}} stamp. But keep in mind this article is WP:NOTTVGUIDE.

Gravity Falls, Wander Over Yonder, Star vs. the Forces of Evil are not Disney Channel original series

Gravity Falls was a Disney Channel original series for only season one, even at the end of the episodes it contains the Disney XD Original tagline. Wander Over Yonder was a Disney Channel original series for the first 14 episodes and started on March 31, 2014 as a Disney XD original series, even included in a promo as his "new home". Lastly, Star vs. the Forces of Evil was announced as a Disney Channel original series back in 2013, but in late 2014 it was announced as a Disney XD original series and also has the Disney XD Original tagline, it also hasn't aired on Disney Channel since the "Disney XD on Disney Channel" preview on January 18, 2015. Plus, Wander Over Yonder and Gravity Falls as of 2015 only air as part of "Disney XD on Disney Channel" only. As an example, think of The 7D, until April 2014 it was listed as a Disney Junior original program, but since then it has been announced a Disney XD original series, when it aired on Disney Junior it was put under acquired programs. So that's why i'd like to put it under acquired series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheTVGuy66 (talkcontribs) 02:51, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Gravity Falls and Wander Over Yonder are still Disney Channel Original Series

  • Well of course, I know that most of you think that these 2 shows must be under Disney XD on Disney Channel block. But to be fair, I added them to Original series because Eric Coleman stated that, even though their moved to Disney XD, doesn't mean that they are former Disney Channel series. To be just, I put an indicator which indicates that they're still under "Disney XD on Disney XD block" but still airs as an original series. For example, The Amazing World of Gumball. The series must be under acquired programming because the show was not made by Cartoon Network Studios. And also, Star Wars Rebels. NEED LOTS OF UPDATING

Im not sure, but isnt Gravity Falls still running, and it at least ran till late 2014- early 2015 if it was cancelled. Star vs The Forces Of Evil needs updates. Was Wander Over Yonder really cancelled? I hated that show, but I didn't think it got cancelled did it? I think Jessie got cancelled when Bunk'd started, am I correct? I dont think Austin And Ally is still going either. Only The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody really airs anymore, I have not seen Kim Possible in like 5 years. Did Mighty Med really start in 2013? It doesn't seem like it. PJ Masks? Huh? They still rerun The Suite Life On Deck. I think pass the plate lasted longer. I think Zeke and Luther went into 2010 too. And Playhouse Disney stills exists, it just changed its name to Disney Junior. ThisGuyIsGreat (talk) 00:18, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

Backstage prematurely removed from current programming

I have decided to revert an edit which moved this show to former programming. Backstage is far from being cancelled at this stage, with the announcement that it has been renewed for a season two on Family Channel in Canada. As for the rest of season one, there are U.S. air dates for 15 episodes—which I think is the rest of the season—scheduled from September 12 to 30, 2016. I have no reason to believe that they won't be on Disney Channel in the U.S., since they've aired the first 15 episodes, but as this is more than two weeks away, no confirmation yet in the TV listings. Reruns have stopped for the moment, yet there are still ads running on Disney Channel about the show, mainly thru songs performed by a few cast members. That gives me plenty of indication that the rest of season one will continue on Disney Channel, so saying this is former programming (after the episode "Showtime", which aired July 31 on the network) is quite premature. That's So Raven

Someone needs to take That's So Raven out of former programming and put it in current programming under shows that have ended. Reruns air on Disney Channel at 5:30 AM EST Soap505 (talk) 15:19, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Not done It's not a recently ended series. The shows under current programming are either ones that are active, like Andi Mack or K.C. Undercover, or have recently ended and still rerun, like Girl Meets World and Austin & Ally, which would be moved to former programming once reruns stop. MPFitz1968 (talk) 16:29, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

But reruns are going on right now Soap505 (talk) 16:54, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Acknowledged, but looking at its listing right now in former programming, there's nothing to change. 2017 is already included in the group of years it reran - consensus for rerun info appears not to include specific dates and the info will stay that way (even if we tried to add specific dates, it may end up being a case of original research as hardly any reliable source is going to compile such info - plus Wikipedia is WP:NOTTVGUIDE, so even if sourced, it would be a problem). Disney occasionally brings back old programs to rerun mostly in the overnight hours (U.S. time), or even in prime-time as was the case with Hannah Montana late last year, but they are still former programs in the context of this list. Shouldn't the Phineas and Ferb box in List of programs broadcast by Disney Channel#Former programming have the "1" and "2" marks in "Notes"? The List of Disney Channel series page says that Phineas and Ferb became a Disney XD show on February 13, 2011 as the DXD launch and that can be my reliable source.

Also, Raven's Home premiered last night, so it shouldn't be still marked upcoming.

The bottom line is this: "I found it on the Web" is not a reliable source for Wikipedia (at least not without at minimum a link to where you found it), and one Wikipedia page is not a reliable source for another Wikipedia page. Thank you, and good luck. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 19:14, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request on 22 July 2017 (RE-REDUX)

@Jalen::

OK, thanks for the reference, but what about the notes? The purpose of this whole edit request in the first place was for the notes to be included. The reference is just to prove that Phineas and Ferb moved and became a Disney XD show in early 2009 (even though it used the Disney Channel Original logo until 2011), and that reruns now only currently air on Disney XD.

P.S. note: It's also a good thing you added that reference to the "References" section, because it will play a major part in the list of programs broadcast by Disney Channel. Thank you. 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 02:03, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

  •   Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. Please also note that you do not need to submit a new edit request. As explained in the template, just change |ans=yes to |ans=no to reactivate the existing request and provide more information after this comment. --AussieLegend () 09:03, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

First, this whole edit request in the first place (as I mentioned to Jalen; NOT to throw him under the bus) was for the 1 and 2 numbers in the "Notes" box for "Phineas and Ferb" under former programming (the 1 meaning the series became a Disney XD series whilst the 2 meaning reruns now only air on Disney XD) as I mentioned in the original.

And second, this request is actually for the 2 PREVIOUS assemblies of this WHOLE edit request (mainly for the original). Thanks for your time. 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 15:19, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, he did that before, but then Jalen told him not to do it over and over again (just like 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA, NOT to throw Jalen under the bus) 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:9E (talk) 15:27, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Semi-protected edit request on 22 July 2017 (REDUX)

@Jalen:, @Eggishorn:, I found an article from the last episode of Phineas & Ferb to proof. And to prove is the article (and comments section ) talks about the move to Disney XD in 2009:

"'Phineas And Ferb' Doesn't Go Quietly: Series Finale Sets Disney XD Record" [1]

I hope this helps this edit request. Thanks! 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 03:14, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

So NOBODY BOTHERS TO REPLY TO MY EDIT REQUEST!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!! 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 17:09, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

Please don't act impatient. Someone will notice your request. Also pinging @JJMC89, NotTheFakeJTP, and John of Reading to see if any of these editors will be happy to answer your request. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 20:03, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

I was not acting impatient. It's just that it felt like a long period of time. I sent this between Sunday afternoon and evening. But then this morning I realized that I would just wait until tonight to look and see if anyone replied. 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 01:05, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

By the way, is there anyone besides the users you mentioned that will accept (or reject) this request? For the record, I like to talk my edit requests with you, @Jalen:. 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 01:10, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
I've gone ahead and added the reference for you. Feel free to reopen this request with any other changes you wish to make. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 01:13, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
I was not acting impatient. It's just that it felt like a long period of time. - It was only 40 hours, which is not really a long period at all. --AussieLegend () 12:06, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Are you kiddin'? 40 hrs is almost TWO DAYS.

And plus, the time at the bottom didn't say around 40 hrs. At least I didn't see it, and maybe 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA didn't see it either.

107.77.208.210 (talk) 15:00, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Two days is not a long time. Wikipedia is not working to a dead line. --AussieLegend () 16:53, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

And plus, I didn't the timeline banner at the bottom when it said "Last edited 40 hours ago by an unknown user". In fact, the last time I checked, it said "Last edited 15 hours ago by an anonymous user" as how I remember it. 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 17:51, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Anyways, all I need to know is if my whole edit request is either accepted or rejected. FWIW, I already said the purpose of my edit request 2 times. Where's Jalen? 2600:387:B:7:0:0:0:BA (talk) 17:59, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

MOS:DATERANGE

This article should switch to consistent use of XXXX–XXXX date ranges (e.g. 1989–1997), and eliminate all instances of XXXX–XX date range use (e.g. 1989–97), as per MOS:DATERANGE. There really is no justification for using the latter format, esp. at an article like this one. --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:35, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Can someone change that Mech X4 ended August 20, 2018 instead of just showing the release date of the disney channel episodes. just put Mech-X4 moved to disney xd on april 17, 2017 in a note. that’s how it is for every other show like Gravity Falls and Wander Over Yonder. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:840:8300:C3A0:8C09:E3A4:AFF7:DBE2 (talk) 12:04, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

How come being removed from Disney Channel Press doesn’t count?

It’s clearly an official website by Disney, and if they remove something off the list, shouldn’t that tell us that it’s not coming back…?! Peacerocker07 (talk) 00:14, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Because you cannot make that inference. We need a reliable source to say it's cancelled. EvergreenFir (talk) 00:18, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Are you intentionally being obtuse? The legal listing of active shows from the press is the be-all-end-all. This is how cancellation works. I'm an 8 year veteran reporter covering Disney. To be in your position I would expect you to be aware of these things. 72.128.218.3 (talk) 01:24, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Should we add a “status” tab on the current list of shows?

For the current list of shows, wouldn’t it be easier just to add a “Status” tab next to the current shows so people don’t have fights over it?

Like the statuses could either be: “Pending” “Renewed” “Ongoing”

The shows that had season finales could definitely using a “pending” tab…

I’ve seen the “status” tab on the “List of Disney+ original programming.” Peacerocker07 (talk) 05:05, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

I am not opposed to this in principle, but I don't think it would stop people from fighting. They'd just switch it up and begin fighting over what the appropriate status should be and when it should be moved down to the repeats section. (Or maybe I'm just jaded.) Aoi (青い) (talk) 08:52, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
This is pointless – the issue is that Disney doesn't officially announce cancellations. There is nothing we can do about that except follow our own guidelines as spelled out places like MOS:TV and the documentation of {{Infobox television}}. It's not our fault that some of our editors don't understand WP:NOTNEWS and that this is an encyclopedia based on information verified by reliable and reputable sourcing. If it doesn't come from a network or a showrunner, it's not useable. --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:13, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
