Differently named seasons

This certainly helps clean up the look of the other page but as Grzs11 pointed out there, the next season is likely to be called Spartacus: Vengeance (per an interview with the show's creator). Additionally, there is now the possibility of a prequel mini-series with yet still another title while Andy Whitfield gets his medical treatment (I don't have link hand but I'll dig it up). So I'm wondering what impact that will have on splitting the article like this, if you see what I mean. I don't know where the discussion to do this took place (other than a few in passing references on the other page) so I wasn't sure if these issues were covered before consensus was reached. When/If the second season is confirmed to carry a different subtitle, or if the Prequel doesn't fall under the "Blood and Sand" title, then this page could possibly be renamed as "List of Spartacus episodes" and then note the differing subtitles in each seasons Section (since they would still be within the "Spartacus" franchise, if you will). I believe this same subject was mentioned in regards to the main article which also carries the subtitle. Nothing to really do until, again, eaither the second season has a different subtitle confirmed or the prequel enters the argument. I know it's been confirmed that it will most likely have a different title but DeKnight has only tossed around Vengeance as his strongest contender at this point (i.e. the actual title iteself is not confirmed). I went ahead and created Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, so the list of episodes and list of characters associated with Blood and Sand may need to be renamed. Or, perhaps this list should remain the same so that future Blood and Sand episodes can be added, while an episode list for Gods of the Arena could be added to the main article (as a section). Lucretia dead or wounded?

She looked pretty dead to me at the end of "Kill Them All". Granted, her hand was still moving a bit to touch Batiatus' but with the amount of blood that leaked out of her, I don't see how she could've survived. At any rate, a reference is needed either way. —Eekerz ^(t) 03:46, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

What reason is there for a citation, given the current text contained within the summery? It makes the claim that she was wounded, a fact which is obvious in watching the episode, and one which you acknowledge. The episode closes without definitively establishing her status (alive or dead), so the current summery fits what is presented within the episode. She may have been fataly wounded, and if that were the case and the summery would make that claim, then a citation would be needed to support such a claim. It is known that Lawless had signed for a second season, and now that circumstances have dictated a 6 episode 'prelude' season, one has the hunch that Lawless (who is kind of a 'franchise maker', maybe even be around for the projected five year series! I don't think her death (or not) matters in terms of whether or not she'll be in a second season. I mean this interview with Hannah states he's in the next season (he me be referring to the prequel erroneously) and there's been no debate about his character being dead. I haven't seen confirmation one way or another about Lucretia's death or Lawless being in the 2nd season other than stuff like the USAtoday article where it seems to be a non-confirmed statement on the part of the reporter. Rename

I believe the page should be rename to "List of Spartacus episodes," since "Blood and Sand" was the first season of the series. Each season is given a new title. Obi Dan Kenobi (talk) 03:56, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

I agree, and while we are at it, Gods of the Arena should not be listed as Season 0 in the chart. That's absurd. It doesn't matter if the season covered material that chronologically happened before the other seasons. You follow the production codes and dates for a season, i.e. either it's the second season or list it as a separate series apart from the chart. We don't randomly list episodes that happen to cover "prequel" material at the beginning of the chart. What if they make another season that happened before it, do we list it as season -1? Episode numbering

For one reason or another, episodes of "Gods of the Arena" are not numbered:

It is obvious that "Fugitivus" (S02E01, first episode of "Spartacus: Vengeance") is episode №20, not 14 (since 19 episodes were released before it).

As far as I know, the right scheme to number episodes is to give every released episode a number based on chronological order it was shown on TV, starting at 1, ending at 29 (since a total of 29 episodes was released so far). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.170.151.117 (talk) 20:47, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps not so obvious as you believe. According to IMDB, "Blood and Sand", "Vengeance", and "War of the Damned" are different seasons of the same series, but "Gods of the Arena" is another series, which would explain the exclusion of "Gods" from the episode count. "Gods of the Arena" is a separate mini-series. It's a different show, so of course it is not included in the series numbering. Elements of it may have been incorporated into the main series later, but it is still a different entity and not a second season. Season order

Should the "Gods of the Arena" episodes not be placed below "Blood and Sand"? Yes, it takes place before Season 1, but it still came after. Also, plenty of other shows have particular episodes that take place earlier chronologically, but their articles don't then list them higher up the page simply for this reason. At the end of the day, the prequel series was still produced afterwards.

I haven't just edited it because it's possible a consensus to have it be set out as it is currently has been met, in which case I'll say no more, it was just a query I thought I'd address. --SnowyNight1234 (talk) 17:54, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
