Proposed addition to the List of LGBT characters in modern written fiction edit

• Information to be added or removed: Please add characters Darius Malyveld, Kevelynd Vyalt Vyndrak, Malleus Malyveld, Ambrose Vyndrak, Jadaron Malyveld, and Zafius Malyveld to the List of LGBT characters in modern written fiction. The work they appear in is The Garnet Crown. It was published on 10 August 2020. The author is Vincent Hunter. The LGBT identities in the story are: pansexual, transgender, demisexual, homosexual, and asexual. Notes: Darius Malyveld is an Elated Prince and blacksmith who is in love with a trans man, Kevelynd Vyalt Vyndrak. The story of The Garnet Crown follows Darius as he struggles to defend his kingdom from Zaldyan and his oppressive reign of Shadow while trying to get close to the man he loves. Kevelynd Vyalt Vyndrak is also secretly in love with Darius Malyveld, but because he is a wraithwalker who is forbidden to speak openly to anyone above his social class, he is unable to confess his feelings for the Elated Prince. Malleus Malyveld declares his love for Ambrose Vyndrak, the adopted zand (trimale child) of Kevelynd Vyndrak, and the two begin a relationship. Jadaron Malyveld pursues Ambrose Vyndrak as a love interest, but is rejected. Zafius Malyveld declares that he would rather watch his brother Zirkonus sort metal in his forge than to pursue a relationship. He doesn't outwardly state this, but Zafius Malyveld is asexual and finds the idea of sexual romance unappealing. • Explanation of issue: The LGBT characters that appear in The Garnet Crown (Crimson Plumes series) are not yet on the List of LGBT characters in modern written fiction. :( • References supporting change: The Crimson Plumes Wiki character page: https://crimson-plumes.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Crimson_Plumes_characters

Well, @FirebornMana, I'll just copy what I said on the Talk:List of fictional trans characters page:

That seems like a sizable amount of sources already. The Vincent Hunter press release in Surrey Now Leader Newspaper seems to talk about the book generally and not mention any particular character. Similarly, with the Vincent Hunter official website it seems to, again, be general. So, those could be supporting references. Sadly, the fandom page doesn't cite any sources. However, doing some digging, I found the tweet of Vincent Hunter as a source, which says:

Happy #NationalComingOutDay Be kind to yourself & take your time. You’re valid no matter if you’re out or not. We’re writing #ownvoices stories that include LGBTQIA+ characters. Kevelynd comes out as transgender in The Garnet Crown.

So, if you use the the tweet of Vincent Hunter as a primary source, while mentioning the Vincent Hunter press release in Surrey Now Leader Newspaper and perhaps mentioning the Vincent Hunter official website, then yeah, it would work as an entry. Suggestion edit

Hullo! I would suggest adding Gideon, Harrow and pretty much the whole main cast of The Locked Tomb series to the list! 151.68.4.214 (talk) 16:24, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
