Episode notability edit

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.
  • The result is to redirect all except for the Pilot for now. The Pilot may be redirected in the future if it doesn't meet the standards set by others.

Many or all of the existing individual episode pages for this series appear to fail the notability guidelines for television episodes, and have been tagged accordingly. These articles can be improved through the inclusion of real-world information from reliable sources to assert notability. Overly long plot summaries should be edited, to a maximum length of approximately ten words per minute of screen time. Trivia should be integrated into the body of the article, or removed if it is not directly relevant. Quotes and images should only be used as part of a critical analysis of the episode. You might also consider merging any notable information onto the show's "List of episodes" or season pages. Otherwise, when these pages come up for review in fourteen days, they may be redirected, merged or deleted. If you want any help or further information, then come to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Episode coverage. Thanks. TTN 17:20, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

These will be redirected eventually. TTN 20:45, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I object. Please use the Wikipedia:Television episodes/Review process. - Peregrine Fisher 05:42, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I also object to merging the articles. It is a complete waste of time and it would make the merged article too large and confusing for readers, which is why I am opposed to this move. Leave the episode articles as it is. Robert Moore 08:19, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I fixed up Pilot (30 Rock episode) a bit. I think it would be a mistake to redirect these pages because reviews for each episode can be found at TV Squad and Buddy TV, so a Reception section with at least 2 POVs can be created for each. Buddy TV has a ton of other articles on the characters and the show itself too. The DVD also has audio commentary that can help with making production sections. - Peregrine Fisher 16:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Without significant real-world information, this level of plot detail isn't justified. A merge or redirect of most articles would be a good idea. I haven't looked at all of them yet, but so far I have yet to find any that even appear to have the potential for this real-world information. -- Ned Scott 20:24, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • Correction, Pilot (30 Rock episode) might have this potential. I will keep looking and will try to keep an open mind about the others as well. -- Ned Scott 20:26, 16 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Original airdate edit

This article claims to identify the original airdates, when in fact, it identifies the original U.S. airdates. For this list to reflect a worldwide perspective, all episodes that were aired early in Canada should have the Canadian airdate listed. I moved the pilot to October 10, but I am unsure of how many more were aired early. –thedemonhog talkeditsbox 05:02, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I changed episodes two, three and four which were aired early according to their pages, and if any more were aired early, please change the dates. –thedemonhog talkeditsbox 02:17, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Episode Titles edit

Another source for episode names is NBC and Fox's Hulu.com streaming video site.

It's still in private beta but I got an invite. I was browsing the 30 Rock page and changed the title of "Episode 209" to "Ludachristmas" according to the title it's known as on that site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SuperA450 (talkcontribs) 23:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

See [1]. It does indeed list 209 as "Ludachristmas". Barsoomian (talk) 11:23, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

And Jamie jca, who keeps changing "Ludachristmas" to "209", do you actually believe that will be the title on the DVD release? I find that pretty unlikely. But have it your own way. For now. Barsoomian (talk) 18:27, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

It will be listed as that on Hulu so it is more user friendly. Look on NBC's press site. [2][3]. "Ludachristmas" and "Coffee" are titles created by fans and critics so they are unofficial. Change it when the DVD comes out but only if it's listed as anything other then "Episode 209" or "Episode 210." -- Jamie jca (talk) 20:45, 27 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Episode Pages edit

Okay, I know they all got redirected a few months back but if I could redo them with notable information, reviews, ratings, production/broadcasting notes (not trivia), real world info, ect. I could make one for "Episode 210" and if it is not notable, it can be deleted. Also, if I do create the page, would a cultural references section be allowed? I only ask because 30 Rock tends to have many cultural references, I can't see reason why not (as it is used on a featured article "A Streetcar Named Marge") but they are sometimes unwanted, it will not be in bullet point form. -- Jamie jca (talk) 21:26, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Rural Juror edit

I started making the page here: User:Cornucopia 2008/Sandbox gen. Please feel free to edit and add to it. Thanks! Corn.u.co.pia Discussion 08:04, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Date format edit

Just wondering... why are all of the dates in this article in day/month/year format? 30 Rock is an American series; shouldn't this article use the month/day/year format as WP:Date suggests? — Spanish lullaby (talk) 03:20, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not sure. I think a date audit changed the format, however I agree that it should be changed to the month/day/year format. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 04:39, 21 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Section move edit

I'd like to propose we move the DVD information to below the episode listing. For one, a part from the LOE pages, it's generally standard practice among TV and Film articles to put DVD info last. This is a List of Episodes page, and not a List of DVDs page, so the first thing a reader should see should be the episodes. It's also a bit misleading to have it under "Series overview" (or something similar), because it isn't an overview or a summary. It's just a table for the DVD releases. I recently adjusted List of Smallville episodes to reflect that, moving the DVD info below the episodes under the new header of "Home video release", which is more appropriate given what it actually is. This isn't a major change, but I'd rather come to the talk pages of all the relevant LOE pages first.

P.S. I removed the image of the first season DVD. It's been a long running understanding that images like that for an LOE page fail the WP:FUC completely.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:05, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Renaming of episode number columns edit

Hi all. The current columns "Series #" and "Season #" are open to misinterpretation (especially by casual visitors). I've recently renamed the same columns at List of The Big Bang Theory episodes to be "Overall episode #" and "Season episode #" respectively. There is a place to discuss this at: Template_talk:Episode_list#Episode_number_column_headings. Depending on the outcome there, I'm happy to apply the same changes for this page.  HWV258.  03:45, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notice: Images up for deletion edit

I am attempting to have 57 images that are currently used to illustrate 57 individual episode articles deleted. Please see Wikipedia:Files for deletion. __meco (talk) 09:22, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
