mass of "minor" changes not so minor... edit

To Alton.arts, whoever you are...thank you for your work here, but 19 individual edits, the addition of an inappropriate image, and completely new additions are not "minor". I'm going to be doing some cleanup on this and I seriously considered reverting it back before all your edits, but there's enough content in your changes to warrant actually using some of it. of course, no sources are cited but I'm forgiving of that on this particular article because most of the sources are either in Japanese or word of mouth (speaking from experience as a long-time fan). Merge from Animegao kigurumi edit

I do not believe the concept of Animegao kigurumi has stand-alone notability; I can find very few sources on this, mostly in passing or at best, paragraph-length. This is probably sufficient for a section here, but not for a dedicated article. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 19:55, 22 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

You might also want to consider the larger issue of the fact that costumed character and kigurumi are, essentially, the same thing. So, maybe a merge of all 3 articles would be in order as this one has no sources either. The only issue is the fact that costume pajamas also fall under the same name, so maybe it would need some kind of disambiguation, like:
"Kigurumi" redirects here. For the costume pajamas, see Japanese street fashion.

The merger is complete, I saw it as non controversial. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:01, 8 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

English usage edit

So I first came across this term being used for skeleton-styled pajamas. All of the results in google image show a very particular sort of one-piece pajama with a hoodie, typically stylized after an animal, but there are other patterns too. I think in English, this isn't so much a synonym for fur suit as it is for a specific type of PJ that is often created to resemble an animal. (I feel like it'd be a stretch to call this a fur suit, as I can easily see people not into anthromorphs wearing this.) Artheartsoul1 (talk) 00:11, 10 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree, people usually don't use "kigurumi" in English to refer to mascot costumes. I think one possible course of action could be to make it a disambiguation page with the mascot and animegao part pointing to costumed character (since kigurumi is a subset of it) and the pajama part going to a section of Japanese street fashion (the animal pajama thing is notable mainly because it's a fashion trend). --Rar91 (talk) 07:06, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
