Lead edit

  • Hunt's nationality is missing from the first sentence as is convention in any biographical article
  • "However, his control problems resurfaced in the minors" - minor leagues

Early life edit

  • "He grew up in that town," - should that be changed to city?
  • "but only went to the school" - try to use an alternative other than school since Brigham is a university

Career edit

  • Briefly explain Gabe Paul's role in the Redlegs on the first mention of his name
  • Wikilink the term scout to Scout (sport)
  • "Seventy-five walks in 54 innings pitched " - I believe the text in bold should be worded as 75 for consistency with MOS:NUMERAL
  • "contributed to a 2-5 record" - the hyphen should be replaced by an en dash
  • "and an earned run average (ERA) of 9.00 exactly." - the word "exactly" is not needed
  • "and his record was 4-14." - en dash please
  • "However, his ERA came down a little to 6.66," - better; lowered to 6.66
  • "Hunt shoved his walk total down to 134" - lowered his walk total to 134
  • "in eight innings in a 4-2 victory" - the hyphen will need to be replaced with an en dash
  • "May 23, despite allowing five hits and six walks in 7 2⁄3 innings," - The sentence should start as On May 23,
  • "beating Don Drysdale in a 2-0 victory." - another hyphen that needs to be replaced with an en dash
  • Wikilink Sports Illustrated the first time it is mentioned
  • "Hunt did throw in the minors," - minor leagues
  • "He had a 2-8 record between those teams" - again another hyphen that should be substituted with an en dash
  • "Ironically, he gave up fewer earned runs per game" - the word "Ironically" is informal and should be removed or changed to a more formal word
  • "he gave up fewer earned runs per game" - how about the word relinquished instead for variety?
  • "he had a 7-9 record" & " he had a 7-6 record" are two more instances of the hyphen being better off replaced by an en dash in both instances
  • "He also got picked up by the Baltimore Orioles' organization" - was also chosen

Later life edit

  • Wikilink the term bachelor's degree and the Utah Sports Hall of Fame

References edit

  • Reference 1 is missing the date it was published
  • Reference 5 should have the work as Baseball-Reference not baseball-reference for consistency

Am going to the review on hold to allow the nominator to action/respond to the queries raised above. MWright96 (talk) 18:57, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • @Sanfranciscogiants17: Now promoting to GA class. I have made some changes to the article. You used the longer em dash (—) not the shorter en dash (–) that is standard on Wikipedia. MWright96 (talk) 06:48, 5 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
