NPOV edit

"Carey's critical works are all distinguished by his fearless acumen and brilliant wit, which have played their part in evoking a sometimes indignant response from other academics."

This may well be true, but it certainly violates NPOV. It reads like a blurb from an event programme or something. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.101.212.158 (talk) 12:56, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

as expounded in several books edit

I realize my lead-refactor is clunky, but knowing nothing about either the man or his publications, any adjective I might supply would be suspect and/or immediately shot down. What I do know is that the lead functions better as a notability synopsis than as a pencil-sketch biographical surrogate. — MaxEnt 18:41, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
