Photograph edit

Why was the photograph of Butcher deleted and replaced with a pencil drawing? Is Wikipedia now showcasing people's artwork? Is this going to be yet another medium for backdoor advertising?

I agree, we definitely need a real picture, I don't think it would be even possible to recognize the man, if this picture was somebody's only reference. especially since he has buzzed off all of his hair. 24.142.11.158 (talk) 03:04, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

New Article edit

Not sure why, but the old Jim Butcher article was deleted. I believe it's because the biography was from his official website, and it no longer fit with Wiki's Fair Use rules. So I've written my own biography and a quick bibliography to bring the article back. If anyone has a publicity photo of Jim they would like to add, that would really help the article. I'm going to try to add ISBN numbers later. Thanks to the Wiki admins for cleaning up the stub. Debuskjt 15:59, 15 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merge with Dresden? edit

This article has relatively little of the author and appears to be a rerun of tables and stats form the publishing articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.23.49.48 (talk) 03:33, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Omnibus releases edit

The notes about the three SFBC omnibuses needs to be updated. The third one has been released as "Wizard at Large" but the article is written as if it hasn't been released yet. Robinsage 18:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Agreed, but I could never find a source stating that it was actually released. - Debuskjt 15:13, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bibliography edit

The Bibliography for the Dresen Series is missing a number of links (or links to pages that should exist but haven't yet created it) however when I tried to edit and add those links all it came up with was {{The Dresden Files Bibliography}}, how do I go about editing the files for that variable?

  • Try editing Template:The Dresden Files bibliography. Changes you make on the template will be reflected in the article. android79 21:02, 2 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • Thanks! I was actually comming back to this page to post that I found the template, but man you were quick! it was when I posted my question here and I saw it marked Template: that the lightbulb went onUser:halcyonforever
      • No problem. You can automagically sign/date your posts by using four tildes: ~~~~. android79 21:08, 2 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
        • Thanks again, I was just doing a search for the auto signature...Halcyonforever 21:09, 2 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I recommends adding the complete list of titles and short stories for all the series here and put the details on the other wiki pages. It makes it easier for someone like me to compare the list to what's available at the local library. The libraries databases are often incomplete making it difficult to figure out the order to read books. Printing the bibliography is a handy way to create a checklist of which books have been read. By the way Brief Cases is on his website and should be added to the table. Cvreads (talk) 23:21, 10 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Apparently he's now divorced edit

I was listening to an interview with Butcher at the 2013 DragonCon (Sword and Laser #140) and Butcher stated that he got divorced "this year." Ggeezz (talk) 14:50, 1 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

He's engaged to Kitty Krell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPoCQgGp4Cw WordwizardW (talk) 23:14, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion edit

This page should not be speedily deleted because there's nothing wrong with it.

The speedy deletion request has no basis and is suspect

Assessment comment edit

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Jim Butcher/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

I would still classify this as start class because it covers a lot about the Dresden files and Codex Alera, but almost nothing about everything else. That everything else needs to be expanded before it can become B-Class. Green caterpillar 23:24, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 13 November 2019 edit

Year of publication for Storm Front in Hardcover should be changed from 2000 to 2007. A Google search using the ISBN while support this. 2601:182:4300:F780:9B6:D0C6:523B:9A36 (talk) 21:16, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Not done: While a google book search for the isbn does indeed show an edition from 2007, it also shows editions from 2000, 2005, and 2008. See [1] NiciVampireHeart 03:44, 16 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Adding books to Bibliography edit

Can someone add the next 2 books of the Dresden series to "Dresden Files bibliography" with the relevant info as one called "Peace Talks" is coming out this month and the other "Battleground" is coming out in September also this year??

I would try but I think I would just screw the box up lol!
