Talk:Japanese Culture Channel Sakura

I'n not sure if this article belongs in the Far-rights politics section. Granted there are nationalist groups in Japan that support fascism, but the ideology of nationalism in general varies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationalism

Japanese Culture Channel Sakura is little more than a video sharing website. Therefore while far-right groups have been connected toward it the same can be said with moderate nationalist groups. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Graylandertagger (talkcontribs) 05:17, 5 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

To call Channel Sakura a video sharing website is not accurate. While its presence has lessened, it is a broadcaster with programming time on SkyPerfecTV. Assigning the category "Far-right politics in Japan" to the article probably stems from the fact that the article cites reliable sources (Japan Focus, Japan Times) which describe it as a right-wing media organization. If you can find sources which say that it is not right wing but rather moderate, feel free to cite them, but do note that the category is not asserting that the channel itself is right-wing, but that it is involved in right-wing politics. That I think it hard to deny. (And by the way, please sign your comments by using 4 tildes.) Michitaro (talk) 06:02, 5 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I never said that Japanese Culture Channel Sakura wasn't a right wing organization. In fact after doing a bit more research on the group, I think it's safe to list it as a far-rightist group due to the many red flags it has. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Graylandertagger (talkcontribs) 02:04, 8 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

" It is known for its support for uyoku dantai " - This is a misleading statement. Channel Sakura is decidedly against cooperation with uyoku dantai. It is against gaisen uyoku (which Mizushima has criticized countless times on Channel Sakura) and it will not allow uyoku dantai to join its protests. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.164.51.206 (talk) 06:27, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Certain links in see also section edit

Right now, there appears to be a dispute about the appearance of certain links in the see also section, specifically to certain prominent far-right Japanese politicians, and also to uyoku dantai and Zaitokukai. Sellwhite has removed and repeatedly reverted these edits on the grounds that they do not represent the channel, but the very first reference draws repeated reference to connections between Channel Sakura and the uyoku dantai/Zaitokukai/far-right in general. Based on this, it doesn't seem to make much sense to remove the links to me.Zmflavius (talk) 23:36, 9 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please explain how Shintaro Ishihara, Tōru Hashimoto and Takashi Kawamura (politician) have a relation with Channel Sakura. The respective articles do not mention Channel Sakura/Satoru Mizushima. I know Channel Sakura accused Ishihara of having cooperated with the Japanese government for purchasing the Senkaku Islands and Hashimoto's position is against hate speech. The reason simply "right wing" does not deserve inclusion in the section. If you have a good reason to add these persons in See also section, why not include a description in the body of this article?―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 00:41, 10 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
I've done some research, and upon thinking it over, I agree with you that the inclusion of their names would be erroneous, since their connection to Channel Sakura seems tenuous, and, as you say, probably limited to their both being right-wing. My original assumption was based on an inadequate review of the article and referencess and skepticism of the reasons for which Sellwhite originally deleted all the see also links, including the sensible ones. Therefore, I think that in this case (since uyoku dantai is already linked to in the article), probably only the Zaitokukai link belongs, since it is explicitly referred to in the first reference.Zmflavius (talk) 02:46, 10 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
