Agreed. A simple leg animation would help. Video of a critter is really good though (see the Klann linkage links), as often the way it "walks" is more subtle than simply seeing the crank drive a single foot back and forth. I've tried to video a mini Strandbest, but it's hard to see with so many legs in action at once. Maybe make a Strandbeest with a single leg pair at one end painted to show up better? Restored article

I restored the article as a recent edit removed the animated gallery from the Theo Jansen article. That effectively removed the purpose of the prior edit in April 2016, which merged this article's content (mainly the gallery) with Theo Jansen's article. Considering that there is a navbox which links directly to this article, I believe it is appropriate to restore the prior content. I will continue to find and add references to this article. Edited / removed my own talk comment. The two diagrams ARE compatible (see history)... it is just that section M is in a different part of its cycle.
