"Her Stewart ancestry has been traced back to King Fergus I, a contemporary of Alexander the Great."

What rubbish. No-one of European ancestry can go back further than Charlemagne's great-great-great grandfather Armulf of Metz using contemporary sources. For more see wikipedia article on 'descent from antiquity'

According to Burke's peerage the Stewarts go back to "ALAN; Breton noble living c 1045; hereditary Steward of Dol in Britanny" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.129.233.124 (talk) 13:51, 18 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Corrected, reference the tradition of King Fergus who is already featured in Wikipedia. jmswtlk (talk) 21:58, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

When, already? edit

Birth and death aside, six years are named here: 1874, 1896, 1898, 1903, 1912, 1919. In other words, in the first 56 years of this person's life, one datable event occurred.

Anybody wanna buy a tall, thin Buick?

That's a paraphrase of Bob Hope. Anybody wanna start an article about Isabella Stewart Gardner? --Jim Luedke Jimlue (talk) 03:46, 5 March 2011 (UTC)'Reply

Her fortune edit

The article should address how she made her fortune or did she inherit it.

Marriage and family edit

Why just trash the section and not edit out the troublesome material? jmswtlk (talk) 21:09, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

The suspect material was brought in by Soissons03 in Feb 2011. Bringing back the material prior to that. jmswtlk (talk) 21:18, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Poetry award NOT named for her edit

I'm pretty sure the Isabella Gardner Poetry Award was named for ISG's niece of that name. How come you don't have an entry for her? You barely mention her on Allen Tate's page as one of his wives. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.162.253.101 (talk) 19:08, 17 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Should be "great-niece." Still no article on her. What gives? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.162.253.101 (talk) 21:39, 10 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
