I created this article because after reading much academic research on intra-household bargaining I realized that Wikipedia had virtually no information on the subject. The current Bargaining entry only discusses bargaining in strict economic terms and does not acknowledge its role in decision-making within households. Additionally, the Inequality of bargaining power entry does not address the inequality of bargaining power between men and women within a traditional household, which, according to Bina Agarwal, is a key feature in understanding intra-household bargaining (Agarwal, Bina. 1997. “’Bargaining’ and Gender Relations: Within and Beyond the Household.”). I hope this entry will raise awareness of the functioning of households and the unequal bargaining power individuals within the household can find themselves with. We need more important work as sources of information

The creation of this wiki page is a good starting point to introduce intra-household bargaining in family economics. However, the heavy citation of works by the less-known economist Bina Agarwal seems to be inappropriate. Scholars such as Nobel Prize laureates Gary Becker and James Heckman have written on this topic a long time ago.
