Ingress (franchise) edit

Would it be time to have an article about the franchise of Ingress? We have the following:

  • The app / game itself (Ingress / Ingress Prime)
  • Published media
  • The Niantic Project: Ingress
  • The Alignment: Ingress
  • Ingress: Beyond Level 8
  • Ingress: The Niantic Project Files, Volumes 1-4
  • Comic (Ingress: Origins)
  • Tabletop game (Not yet publicly released but it's been showing up at official events.)
  • Anime (Ingress: The Animated Series)

Any thoughts? The article would have to be a skimmed down version of this article. Essentially mention Enlightened, Resistance, Hank Johnson, ADA, and the main objective. I think it's sufficient but want to see if anyone thinks otherwise before I go bold. – TheGridExe (talk) 14:12, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

What's wrong with de-merging Ingress and Ingress Prime? --122.108.141.214 (talk) 01:23, 25 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
122.108.141.214, it wouldn't be de-merging anything. The list above was just for reference of justifying a new article for the franchise of Ingress. Something like Halo (franchise). – TheGridExe (talk) 14:53, 26 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
No, I mean: why not split Ingress/Ingress Prime? --122.108.141.214 (talk) 08:51, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't think it would warrant enough content to stand as a separate article. This also presents a potential problem when the "new" game is released: the app is "Ingress 2.x" even with released videos of the app running. Of course this can change from now to October's potential release date. I know Niantic is focusing more on stability before adding anything new to the gameplay with Ingress Prime. I'm probably seeing where you're thinking with having a separate article for Ingress Prime as eventually the current app will be depreciated. Maybe for right now, we can create a section for just Prime on here and when it comes time - transitioning to a separate article would be seamless. – TheGridExe (talk) 12:57, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, the new section for Ingress Prime is a big improvement, and as more details about the new backstory are released, hopefully they will go there. --122.108.141.214 (talk) 22:43, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
