Chareidim Mourning the establishment of the State edit

It should be verified if most Chareidim mourn Yom Hatzumut, aside for Neturai Karta and perhaps some minor Hasidic groups do most Hareidim actually mourn Isreali Independence day or simply do not celebrate it due to their understanding of Jewish law and don't beleive it to warrent the status of a holiday.

I see that the paragraph has been updated to indicate that mourning is practiced by "People affiliated to the Edah HaChareidis", whereas "Most Haredim make no changes in their daily prayers." The reference is an article in Mishpacha Magazine from 2007. Does that satisfy your request? StormWillLaugh (talk) 14:36, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Remove reference to "Nakba Day" edit

Remove reference to "Nakba Day". From "Israeli Arab reactions". At the very least, remove it from "about" that shows up on google search. Lies. IAmOren (talk) 05:35, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why? The two days are inextricably linked, considering their origin. See the the Nakba Day article which describes that Yom Ha'atzmaut and Nakba Day are sometimes observed on the same day). In fact something else should be changed ("May 15 was commemorated as Nakba Day", it should say "is commemorated", because it's commemorated yearly, not one-time. Wrong tense). 2605:A601:A629:3300:D256:F483:26C1:C2B7 (talk) 18:11, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Fix incomplete reference with broken link edit

Please change

<ref>Rabbi Moshe Meiselman [http://www.ou.org/pdf/ja/5766/fall66/CommtyCovenantMeiselman.pdf Commitment]</ref>

to

<ref>{{cite magazine |last=Meiselman|first=Rabbi Moshe|date=Fall 2005|title=Review of Soleveitchik, Rabbi Joseph B., 'Community, Covenant and Commitment: Selected Letters and Communications,' edited by Nathaniel Helfgot|url=https://jewishaction.com/books/reviews/community-covenant-commitment-selected-letters-communications/|magazine=Jewish Action|publisher=Orthodox Union|access-date=26 Apr 2023}}</ref>

Note: The PDF link in the original reference is broken. A Google search found what is apparently the original PDF - the link has exactly the same URL path, but in an AWS S3 bucket belonging to the magazine publisher:

http://ou.org.s3.amazonaws.com/pdf/ja/5766/fall66/CommtyCovenantMeiselman.pdf

It is a partial PDF of the print form of the magazine issue in which the article appeared. Part of the title of the article is cut off. Since this URL does not seem to be intended for external use and will probably not be durable, I replaced the reference with a citation of the article in the magazine issue where it appeared. I provided a link to the article in the web version of the magazine. StormWillLaugh (talk) 19:38, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

In Independence Day (Israel)#Timing under "Upcoming Gregorian dates for Independence Day:" please remove the first bullet point, "Sunset, 25 April 2023 – nightfall, 26 April 2023 ".

Reason: this is no longer "upcoming". 130.64.64.70 (talk) 14:17, 27 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
