There's a rewritten version of the article at User:LSmith2018/sandbox/Greg Haberny. It seems better-sourced, and some promotional wording apparently was removed, but the new wording still seems promotional to me, and all the inline external links would need to be removed. Some of the rewritten version's sources aren't reliable third-party sources, but none of the current version's are. So I don't think we'd be any worse off with getting rid of the current content and replacing it wholesale (without the inline external links, of course). Oshwah and Marchjuly, thoughts? If this person satisfies WP:BIO or WP:ARTIST, then any NPOV issues can be cleaned up as needed. There might not be much content left to support anything more than a stub, but there will be something. I removed some unsourced peacocky stuff from the lead since content such as that shouldn't really be added without a citation to a pretty solid reliable source. It was a bold move and basically amount to removing about a third of the article. If it was too bold, then maybe there's a better way to incorporate such content so that its more neutrally worded or maybe a source can be found to support it. -- Marchjuly (talk) 15:33, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Marchjuly Now that you've amended the issues can the page warnings be removed? Triple1962 (talk) 17:01, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Triple1962: Another editor cleaned up the article and removed content deemed to not be in compliance with relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines. So, I have removed the relevant maintenance templates. It is, however, still unclear whether Haberny is Wikipedia notable enough to warrant a stand-alone article; therefore, I have added {{Notability}} to the article. For reference, this template is not meant to disparage Haberny or his accomplishments as an artist in anyway, and it does not mean the article is on the road to deletion; it's just meant to alert other editors that there is an issue with this article which needs to be addressing. What needs to be calrified is how Haberny meets WP:ARTIST, WP:BIO or WP:GNG. The way this is done is finding significant coverage of him in independentreliable sources, and there adding content supported by said sources to the article. So, if you are aware of any major writeups about Haberney found in major newspapers, magazines, professional journals, or other published reliable sources, then you can summarize what those sources say and add citations in support. If by chance, you are connected to Haberny in any way, please read through Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide before trying to edit the article. Since seem to be a new editor to Wikipedia (your account has only made one edit so far), I will add a welcome template to your page which contain various links to more information about Wikipedia and how it works. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:32, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
