Untitled edit

I have to ask a question. As a Denver Broncos fan I watch many games called by Greg Gumbel. At the end of each and every game he will say the following - "60 Minutes will be seen immediately after the game, except on the west coast." Of course, this is not true. This has never been true. Yet still he persists. 60 Minutes is always on at its usual time IN DENVER, which, as millions of Colorado fans (not to mention the millions of residents in other Mountain Time Zone states) know from childhood is not on the west coast.

If this is a nit, I apologize. But it definitely gives the impression that Greg Gumbel: 1. does not even know where Denver is and/or 2. does not care. Can someone give him some advice to stop offending Denver fans and Mountain Time Zone residents? Or at least explain why Denver fans are apparently not in the "demographic" he is trying to reach. I feel better now. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.200.2.1 (talk) 22:04, 25 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Promos like this are written by the production team and given to Gumbel, and all other announcers, to read. The text is neither a reflection of Gumbel's intelligence nor whether he cares. The fact is, network promos have ignored the Mountain time zone for years -- "Lost - Wednesday at 9 Eastern/Pacific, 8 Central". Only 5.5% of the US population lives in the Mountain Time Zone, so you can somewhat understand why the networks choose to simplify things. If it's important to you, write a letter to CBS sports in New York. Simon12 (talk) 01:15, 26 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Usually by mid-season I do send an email to CBS. Since they never respond, I thought I would try this avenue. You're right, of course, that our Mountain Time Zone is considered an entertainment and sports backwater. (How many Superbowls did Denver win? Who was in the World Series this year?) Still, I hope that someday we will be added (and correctly) to the promos, just like the Professor and Mary Ann eventually were. PS: my postings are personal not business. Thanks. Greg Gumbel does not join "NFL on FOX" edit

I don't know why would any users authorized to put Greg Gumbel joining NFL on FOX while I was busy concentrating COVID-19. COVID-19 discussed about new COVID-19 cases and new COVID-19 deaths a day. If any users put Greg Gumbel joined "NFL on FOX" and "NASCAR on FOX", shame on them. 24.148.7.206 (talk) 21:09, 22 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
