It appears that the Len Lye Centre has nothing further to do with the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery than being its immediate neighbour. At least, that's how I understand the article. If so, I suggest we split the article. The Len Lye Centre has certainly had more than enough media attention to meet notability criteria. Schwede66 07:50, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
- These could be made into two articles, but it would be appropriate to keep these together. The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and the Len Lye Centre are described as a combined facility. The two entities have their own distinct characters, but they are interlinked internally and there is one staff organisation that covers both. IMO a better candidate for a new article would be Monica Brewster herself. She was granddaughter of Sir Harry Atkinson, Premier of New Zealand for 5 terms. Her other grandfather was Henry Govett, first archdeacon of Taranaki. Monica established a Women's Club in New Plymouth and she was New Plymouth rep on the National Council of Women. There was an article about her on Stuff yesterday. Monica is notable in New Plymouth, but I'm not sure it's enough to qualify for a separate article. For example, she doesn't appear in DNZB. - What do I think? It would be good if you could expand the article based on what you've written above, so that it becomes clear why it deals with two buildings. I have also looked in the article history and discovered that prior to the Len Lye Centre being built, his collection was held at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery; I didn't investigate this far enough to understand why this is no longer mentioned, and it probably never made sense to have that background removed from the article. Once the article demonstrates why it deals with two buildings, I'd be most happy to see the tag removed. As for Monica Brewster, I suppose you refer to this story in the Taranaki Daily News. She meets notability criteria hands-down. Whilst DNZB establishes notability, there are many more notable New Zealanders who don't have their bio published by them.
