I have populated the article with further information, particularly his university career. There may be gaps in the information as I could not access his entry in Who Was Who published after his death, and the positions held while in his parliamentary 'wilderness' are cited to a 1977 Kelly's Handbook. I will be dividing the article into sections.Cloptonson (talk) 13:35, 1 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I'm interested that he was permitted to be Rector of East London Poly while retaining a political role, even one so minor as being a county councillor. Maybe that could be checked by someone.. Harfarhs (talk) 20:06, 9 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
As far as I am aware legislation on local council membership and educational employment is only relevant where there would be conflicts of interest, for example he would not be allowed to be a teacher at a school whose local education authority was a council on which he sat as an elected member, and vice versa.Cloptonson (talk) 06:05, 6 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
