Meaning of the name? edit

I read that GO!GO!7188 is actually somebody's measurements, but I can't remember whose. 55-71-88. Anybody else heard this?

-Joyeuse

Actually I remember reading a translated interview where Yuu or Akko confirmed that GO!GO! (five five in Japanese) 71, and 88 represent measurements, although I forget if it was of the bust or some other area. I don't know that I can find that interview again, it's been awhile. Actually, that was just a joke they said once on their radio show. If you take a moment to think of what a person with those measurements would look like, I think you'll get it. Hana 19:49, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template edit

I made this Template, but we still need articles on the singles and albums. Compared to:

the GO!GO! Template falls short -- ?

I went and updated the template a good bit in the style of the DAI template. I've added it to the pages and hope it will suffice for now. Feel free to change it. :) --Alai 06:34, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Macrons? edit

Shouldn't there be macrons on the song titles (eg. Taiyō instead of Taiyou) to match with WikiProject Japan's established guidelines for the romanization of Japanese words? I'm hesitant to do it myself because there seems to be some inconsistencies and I don't want to change things if there's a legitimate reason (eg. Kyu Ni Ichi Jiken needs an elongation over the "u"). More likely, no one has put forth the effort. I'm sure no one would be offended if you cleaned things up. Megaversal (talk) 23:28, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I'll get around to it this week. Douggers (talk) 04:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

GO!GO!7188Go!Go!7188 — As per WP:CAPS. Relisted. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 13:30, 21 June 2010 (UTC) --Prosperosity (talk) 09:39, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment aren't the exclaimation points excessive per MOS:TM ? 70.29.212.131 (talk) 04:42, 18 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • I don't think WP:CAPS asserts that the current title is wrong. The relevant guideline would be Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks), but I think we should count this page as an exception. The name is ridiculous, of course, but it is what it is. Trying to have it apparently conform to our style guidelines by reducing the two "O"s to "o"s seems overly pedantic, and doesn't help with readability. Should JJ72 become Jj72, or !!! become Chk Chk Chk? Fences&Windows 16:35, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Teens' Music Festival edit

According to the Yamaha website for the event (http://www.yamaha-mf.or.jp/history/e-history/tmf/teens98.html), "GO GO 7188" (no exclamation marks in those days) participated in the Teens' Music Festival of '98, not '99. They also appeared on the compilation CD of the event (recorded on the night of November 29 1998), a copy of which appears to have been auctioned a few months back http://yahooauction25.pg-feed.com/item/d116248648.aspx. Anyone know how to - or care to? - update these pages? Timbo13 (talk) 12:00, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Timbo13Reply

Short version "Gogo"? edit

Is there any verified source/citation for the short version of the name that's stated in the intro paragraph?
"GO!GO!7188 (Go Go Nana Ichi Hachi Hachi), also known simply as Gogo"
If not, we should avoid this usage as the common subject throughout the article.--GimmeChoco44 (talk) 00:47, 22 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
