Talk:Franchise tag

Latest comment: 4 months ago by 69.162.253.10 in topic where's the article?

Untitled edit

Someone please post a reference for the numbers listed in the "2007 Exclusive Franchise Player Costs by Position."

Numbers edit

Since the vast majority of players get the non-exclusive tag, shouldn't those be the #s used? Samer (talk) 15:40, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Matt Cassel edit

Matt Cassel seems to have gotten an exclusive tag, $14M.

As a separate issue, showing the exclusive tag costs for 2009 and the non-exclusive tag costs for 2008 hides the non-exclusive tag costs of 2008. Ideally, we would show the exclusive tag costs for each year and the non-exclusive tag costs can be extrapolated from there (by simply looking at the previous year). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.83.81.178 (talk) 22:39, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

How Is It Determined If The Tag Is Exclusive or Non-Exclusive edit

I assume this might have something to do with the players contract, but maybe something else determines if an exclusive or non-exclusive tag is used? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.29.113.221 (talk) 05:36, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Convert salaries-table to $millions edit

The table is currently in dollars, but the values are all in the millions range and are rounded to thousands. That means every entry has a ",000", which takes up space in a fairly wide table and makes visual distraction from the actual differences among values. Converting to millions of dollars would look a lot cleaner and clearer I think. Any objections? DMacks (talk) 22:17, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

That is, either like this or like that. DMacks (talk) 22:31, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

where's the article? edit

just looking at this article, i could tell there must be some kind of behind the scenes edit war going on. Click "history" and I see 40,000 characters repeatedly added and deleted. lol.

what is the problem with the 40,000 that keep getting deleted? this article is a weird stub without them.

just my opinion.

OK, I read a little deeper, and the objection with the 40,000 characters seems to be that they're a list? Idk. I think that information has merit and should be listed somewhere. Can't it be spun off into its own article "List of NFL Franchise Tags" or something? I don't agree with the reasoning to delete that information entirely. It could be relevant. It could be information people are coming here to find out. Somebody plz fix this article. 69.162.253.10 (talk) 06:16, 8 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
