Talk:Fierce pussy

Hi - two questions:

Should the best most thorough articles/ references (Artforum, etc.) be cited in External References rather than footnotes?

Do we have enough citations at this point to move the disclaimer header from the top of the page?

Thanks!Samsoncamper (talk) 21:58, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Fierce Pussy or fierce pussy? edit

Apparently, this group and some reliable sources stylize the group's name as fierce pussy rather than Fierce Pussy.

Wikipedia traditionally doesn't care how an organization "stylizes" their names, but they do try to reflect common usage.

The question is, should this page be moved to Fierce pussy and the {{lowercasetitle}} template applied, or should it be left alone?

Or, to put it another way, what have reliable sources call this organization in the recent past? davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 23:02, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Davidwr - I think that is what I had attempted, but wasn't figuring out tech-wise. Besides the group using lower case (https://fiercepussy.org/) a major journal in the field (https://www.artforum.com/print/201902/lauren-o-neill-butler-on-the-art-of-fierce-pussy-78383) and a major museum (https://icaphila.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/FP-Gallery-Notes-Final.pdf) are also using lower case styling, just to note some relatively recent/ prominent examples. In other words, I support the move & template. Samson Camper 16:05, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to get more input or at least give more time for objections. If there are several more supporters and no objections after a week from now, then I'd say it's safe to move it and use {{lowercase title}}. If there's low participation but no objections, let's give it until the 23rd of January, that will be a full month. If there ARE objections, then give it a full month, maybe longer if necessary, to hash out any concerns and get a firm consensus to move. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 19:02, 4 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

It looks like there have been no objections - I'b be happy to proceed on the change to lower caseSamson Camper 17:12, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and moved the page, but using {{lowercase title}} to over-ride the Wikipedia standard of not using "marketing-stylized names" in page titles except for well-known things like iPod requires more input than the very limited discussion we had here. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:09, 6 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
