2020 Internazionali di Tennis Città di Parma edit

Internazionali di Tennis Città di Parma (https://internazionaliparma.com/) and Internazionali di Tennis Emilia Romagna (https://internazionaliemiliaromagna.it) are two very different tournaments. The former is a Challenger 80 ($52.080) held indoor in Parma city at the PalaRaschi (the main sport arena in Parma) on hard surface. The other one is a Challenger 125 ($156.240) held outdoor in Montechiarugolo, a suburb of Parma, on red clay. The only thing they have in common is the same organizer (MEF Tennis Events). Therefore a new page would be necessary for Internazionali di Tennis Città di Parma, as Italian (it:Internazionali di Tennis Città di Parma) and German (de:ATP Challenger Parma-2) wikipedia have. • @Carlo58s: Don't know why it took so long for me to see this but this is now done. I have a question for you if you have any idea how to organize the second Challenger that will be held in Parma in the first week of October. Is it under the same tournament as this one? I know there is the Internazionali di Tennis Città di Parma that was held in 2020 but it was on indoor hard so I doubt they are the same tournament. Adamtt9 (talk) 21:57, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Adamtt9: The Internazionali di Tennis Città di Parma was played inddor in an arena belonging to the municipality of Parma, while the tournaments on clay played so far belong to a private club, and the October tournament belongs to a different private club. I send you the discussion I have just posted today on the Italian Tennis Wikiproject:
The first two editions of 2019 and 2020 of the it:Internazionali di Tennis Emilia Romagna were organized by MEF tennis events on the clay courts of the Tennis Club President of Montechiarugolo, suburb of Parma (see here). In 2020 MEF tennis events had also organized the it:Internazionali di Tennis Città di Parma, another Challenger played on the synthetic courts of the it:PalaRaschi of Parma city ( see here).
In 2021 the Challenger was not played, and in its place on the tennis club President courts, Mef tennis events organized the ATP Tour tournament it:Emilia Romagna Open, an event whose women's tournament was part of the WTA 250 circuit and took place the week before the men's one, but at the Tennis Club Parma, also on clay, in the Emilian capital (see here).
In June 2022 the men's Challenger 125 was restored with the new name it:Emilia-Romagna Tennis Cup, and for the occasion the managers of the Tennis Club President entrusted the organization of the company Master Group Sport (see here and here). Also in 2022, Mef tennis events organized a Challenger 125, the Parma Challenger, to be played in October at the Parma Tennis Club the week after the Parma Ladies Open, a WTA 250 women's tournament also organized by Mef tennis events at the Parma Tennis Club (see here). I think October's Challenger should be called Parma Challenger and the 2021 WTA 250 tournament it:Emilia Romagna Open should be renamed Parma Open and include the 2022 Parma Ladies Open. This is also because within 3 years they have already changed the name 4-5 times. I would keep the name it:Emilia-Romagna Tennis Cup for the Montechiarugolo tournament, at least until they change it again. The situation is a bit complicated, because the Master Group Sport writes that the 2020 champion was Tiafoe and in 2022 Coric (see this site), while Mef Events confirms that Tiafoe was champion in 2020 but makes no mention of the 2022 tournament won by Coric (see here)
I'm waitimg for the opinions of some other users, also your opinion is welcome. There are probably a few errors in this message, to be quick I used Google translator. --Carlo58s (talk) 09:49, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
No opinions from me. The situation seems quite confusing. Adamtt9 (talk) 11:25, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Very confusing, much more than Forli'. Carlo58s (talk) 14:30, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've just created the page it:Parma Challenger for the tournament to be played in October. --Carlo58s (talk) 07:22, 22 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
